Skala Hotel

We just enjoyed a great two week stay at the Skala Hotel. The hotel is set back from the sea front and 2 minutes walk from the centre. You literally walk from the busy seafront through an arbour of trees and bushes in to the peace and tranquillity of the hotel. Although holidaying in peak season we never found Skala (the town) too busy and never had a problem finding space in a restaurant or bar and there are many to choose from within 5 minutes walk from the hotel! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and cleaned every day and the breakfasts were excellent. There’s a nice pool at the hotel, we used it a few times but mostly went out to the beaches. The nearest one was a few minutes walk from the hotel but we often took the bus to Kampos Beach and hired a couple of sunbeds for the day. It’s not a huge island and if you’re looking to explore or visit some of the more remote beaches and sights there are plenty of car and scooter rental companies around. We hired one for 3 days and other than that used the bus. All in all a great hotel and a great holiday, looking forward to our next stay!

Located about 5 minutes’ walk from ferry/bus terminal, and close to many eating/shopping options. Excellent service and assistance from staff. Spacious and comfortable room with small balcony. Very good buffet breakfast with pleasant indoor/outdoor seating. Good wi-fi, although performance was variable. Happy for guests to use hotel facilities during day when catching late ferry. Definitely recommend this hotel on Patmos.

Skala Hotel is a short walk from the port, close to many restaurants and tavernas, by the harbour which is a lively place. It is a tranquil oasis, a private courtyard filled with bougainvillea, and a view of the Monastery on the hill, whilst eating breakfast. The staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful, and interested in their guests. It is possible to walk to the medieval village of Chora on old pathways, to see the monastery or the Cave of The Apocolypse. A very well cared for hotel. Highly recommended.

Location! Location! Location! It's close to everything you might need - the port, square, shops and restaurants! We stayed in room 204. It's clean and spacious enough for 2 big luggages and 3 small luggages. We emailed them weeks before our trip about our vegan breakfast and requested for soy milk. They promptly assured that they'd take care of that and they delivered their promise! The Manager and his team are warm, friendly and helpful!

Nice, helpful staff. Friendly. Wanted to please guests and help arrange travel plans. Hotel downtown but off main street so a little quieter. Beautiful grounds. Lots of Bougainvillea. Recommend staying here.

The Skala is a great hotel and with an excellent location - just a few minutes walk from the pier where one gets off from the ferry to the island. The view of the monastery of St. John from a person's hotel window was tremendous. Late September-early October is a very good time to visit since the tourist traffic is much less than in the summer months and the island is "winding down" for the end of the season.

We found the Skala staff to be very helpful. The hotel is in a great location, close to the bus stop and the harbor. Our room was clean and comfortable. A great visit.
