Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Knoxville at Cedar Bluff, TN

Location was good. Breakfast was good. Room was clean, but a little outdated.

Our keycard never worked. Every time we returned to our room, we had to ask to be let in. If there was a line at the front desk, we had to wait. We were told it would be fixed and it never was. It was a simple fix, the batteries needed to be replaced in the card reader and they never were.

The indoor pool.

The room smelled like wet animal and dirt. Our room was not ready until 6:20. The day we left, we were locked out of our room at 9:00. Good thing one of us was still in the room packing to let the other one back in. So much for check in is 3:00 and check out is 11:00.

The front desk staff was great.

My room was half clean. We were moved to another room, which was better. When we went down to breakfast, the staff there sat on the phone the whole time yelling and staring at us the whole time we ate.

I liked the location.

The building and its facilities are in desperate need of updating, maintenance, and/or replacement. The pictures are the site are not up-to-date with what the caility actually looks like. Our entering the hallway to find our room, the carpet was buckling and the air smelled musty. The paint on the walls and doors was chipping. Light fixtures had burnt out bulbs and were mismatched in certain places. In our room it smelled fine. The ceiling had been painted before light fixtures were chosen because you could see the old paint sticking out way beyond the fixtures. We also had mismatched lights. The decorative curtains were torn and the black out curtains has holes in them. The beds were clean. All the furniture was mismatched. There was no TV jn the sitting area of our suite, as pictured on the site. The bathroom had caulking that was turning back, hardware buildup on the shower head, and torn shower curtain. The told seat was scratched up and yellow. The pool had stagnant water that was difficult to see through to the bottom of the pool. The chairs were all chipped and mismatched or broken. They were using it a storage room as well for extra cabinets covered in white plastic tablecloths. The ceiling of thw room had several ceiling towels removed exposing pipes, curtains lights hldid not have working bulbs, and the ceiling had a rough patching job completed and had yet to be addressed professionally. The gym was awful. Not a single machine in the space worked. Not the treadmills, nor the bike, nor the weight machine. In fact, the treadmill belts had been ducktaped together at one point but that was no longer holding. The door jam to enter was held open using napkins stuffed into the latch of the doorway. Ice machine was only on the main floor, not every floor. Laundry was "out if order". Absolutely a disappointment and disgusting. Would not recommend to anyone unless you are desparate.
