Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos, Ramada All-Inclusive Resort

We had a wonderful stay! We stayed in the adult only building. We liked having a pool and bar close to our room and enjoyed the view being up on the hill. Room was clean. It is an older resort but we loved the atmosphere and exceeded our expectations for a budget resort Food was good. We walked to the 2 other resorts and enjoyed the walk between them. The beach was great - warm water and soft sand! I would like to learn more Spanish before returning, but we managed to get by. All the staff was so friendly

We both were sick with food poisoning. My husband through up on the floor and towels were in the area. They charged us 1140. In pesos for the items. Told us they couldn't be cleaned. Then after a few days took them. When i asked for them, that they were our property. They said the took and washed them. I demanded them back. We finally did get them back. We donated them to a family in need. We will NEVER EVER GO TO ANY FACILITY OWNED BY DECAMERON AGAIN.

We have returned from 10 days with our two children at Los Coco’s. We have stayed at this resort 12 years ago and in the charming town of Guayabitos many times. We knew what to expect from this resort in that it’s a 3 star but we aren’t coming to Mexico for fancy frills. Our issue with the resort was the food. The quality and options have significantly declined since our visit a decade ago. To top it off myself and one of my children got what we thought was food poisoning during our stay. My daughter was assessed by the resort doctor which supported this. The resort didn’t offer anything in lieu of this unfortunate event other than a reservation at their A la carte restaurant which was not appealing in any way. Postives of our stay still did outweigh our bad experience with the food, the staff are friendly, attentive, many who speak an English. Our children had a great time in the pool, we enjoyed some of the on resort activities and games, and the beach. The town of Guayabitos has many great things to offer and we will be returning however would not pay for an all inclusive experience as the food and drinks aren’t appealing enough to “get your monies worth”

We were there from January 21/25 to February 4/25. This is the second time at this resort, the last time was in 2023. The food was better this year. Always fruit at breakfast only, pancakes, french toast, omelet station (FLORA, always singing), mexican dishes and this year BACON! There was always chicken or pork or beef or fish served, usually 2 of each. Yes, the building is older but it has a Mexican feel! My home also needs work! People that we met from the Corral wanted to be in the Los Cocos.! At the Marina, which is close to the Cocos has great loungers (softer) than the Cocos (hard)! THESE NEED TO BE CHANGED TO SOFT!! The Marina & Corral are more modern and concrete, We can stay in Canada for that! We've been to many places in Mexico, but this is the best! The water is usually calm (2 knee replacements), the sand is hard to walk on the beach with no rocks! You can see you feet in the water, no sea weed and not dirty! Many mexicans come on the weekend form Guadalajara, the beach is full! which is great it's their Country! Guayabitos is mostly full of Canadians and Mexican people! YA!! We booked our tours with Salvador, Vincent & Stephanie at the resort! GuayTours!. Always at the front desk lobby, Wonderful, Great!! We ate out many times with friends that stay there for the winter. Always great meals never were sick! We feel safe and love the Mexican people! At the resort english is spoken however, some servers and housekeeping may be limited, my spanish is not good either! If your coming to this resort and you want Canadian 4 *, don't book this! If you are an everyday person, YOU WANT THIS RESORT! and experience MEXICO! Entertainment was great! Much better than most resorts these days!

This is my second time going to this resort, the food was excellent and staff were so kind and helpful. The resort was always clean and tidy. We stayed in building #1 by the beach, being so close to the beach was wonderful. Lots to do with our little ones (5 & 3), go to the beach, swim, go to the play ground etc. Everyone was so kind to our little ones. The only two things I would say is I wish there was a shuttle to and from the resort. You can only get a shuttle if you fly through West Jet or Sun wing. Also, building #1 was noisy the last 3 days of our trip as locals were playing loud music early in the morning. I was told that buildings 2,3,4,5 were really quiet. Over all my family enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

The rooms not good and the food the Beach very dirty.

The location was phenomenal! It has direct access to the beach from many of its facilities while at the same time access to the little town on the opposite end (walk through multiple resort buildings). All facilities I visited were so well kept! Please note this is NOT a luxurious resort. It’s very old and outdated but it is clean, inexpensive, great location, and we felt safe at all times. The pools were clean, eating areas, rooms, beds, etc. The food is edible but again, not five star. But it’s also not spam (I read this somewhere before I went and still went for because of location safety and cleanliness). You get a good variety for all meals, and drinks. Omelette station, potatoes, chicken, soups, enchiladas, beans.

Even if the building is old, it does have potential to be a 5 star. The cleanliness almost is 4-5 star because it was so well kept. For food, quality could improve. Service could be better and that would also contribute to more stars/experience. All staff was very kind but: I asked for towels, laundry service, crib, help with a/c, and for ALL it took really long to actually get someone up to my room and for most, multiple calls which is such a bummer because it’s wasted time for me. For the crib and laundry I waited more than one hour which is extremely inconvenient to say the least because I truly needed those items and couldn’t leave the room. But once they arrived, good service. The other was scheduling a taxi from hotel to airport. I was quoted a price and once the taxi arrived it was $500 pesos more. I was told it was because taxi was not affiliated with the hotel and taxi can set its own price but knowing that before would have made a difference.

The location was great and within a safe walking distance to downtown and shops along the way. If you like character of older hotels, it has its own eclectic charm that isn't found at the newer Decameron hotels in the area. It was kept very clean and tidy by staff, who were very accomodating and friendly. The rooms up at the 'adult' section were very spacious and had a lovely view. The pool area in the adult section had lots of available chairs daily, so there was no stress to claim enough chairs for 6 adults.

It is quite a walk on uneven ground at times to get from the beach area to the hotel lobby and 'adult only' accomodation up on the hill. For older people or those with mobility problems, it may not be ideal. Although deemed as a quieter section with less children and noise, during the night you constantly hear cars on the road behind and dogs barking, then by 3am in the morning it was roosters crowing. The adult pool area had all the potential in the world with a nearby bar, full sun and ample chairs, but the pool had a 'no music' policy that was enforced. As a result, it didn't exactly allow for an adult party vibe at all.. it was lacking a little ambiance and all fun factor.
