Very luxurious, gorgeous room and view. Massage was amazing! Celebrated my 30th and made such a fuss. (4 cakes!)

Very secluded and not much ‘vibe’. Despite the hotel being fully booked in the bar area we were the only ones in at 9pm. Would be nice for a bit of atmosphere not sure where everyone goes as you can’t really leave!

Beautiful rooms set in stunning nature. Wonderful staff. Great range of food and drink options and easy access to a small town with more restaurants. Incredible spa. Lovely beach.

It never ceases to surprise me how Pimalai just improved every trip. We stayed for almost three week this time and loved every moment. Champagne on arrival and our Wedding Anniversary!!! Previous recent reviews say it all in detail but I would like to add this. Noi who was our Host was simply brilliant. My husband unfortunately needed medical care. Twenty minutes after seeing Noi we were in a car on our way to Medical Centre. We had to return for three consecutive days, all arranged and sorted on our behalf. She organised every detail from arrival to departure of our holiday. Driver finds you Arrivals and delivers you to Departures!!! The staff in the restaurants, spa, buggy drivers, housekeeping, reception, bars..every ONE showed the highest standards of luxury hospitality. Noi, Fon, Nancy, Pat and so many more deserve to be mentioned. The General Manager Brice leads this amazing crew and is present!! I have to mention that booking directly with the hotel offers the best privileges particularly for returning guests. And yes, we have booked our 10th visit. When you find your heaven at my age, don't waste time looking for more "green" than Pimalai !

We have just returned from three weeks at Pimalai and, as always, it was an utterly fabulous experience. We have stayed here on a number of previous occasions but continue to return due to consistently high quality of experience. We were in one of the hillside private pool villas, which was just lovely. The villa itself is very spacious - both indoor and out - comprising of a separate tastefully decorated living room and bedroom, and has an infinity pool, a day-bed, sun terrace and a covered veranda with a chaise-longue, a dining table and chairs. Our villa enjoyed amazing views over the bay and I'd guess all the hillside villas have very similar outlooks. There are a number of really good quality restaurants within the resort - all of which we used. The 'Seven Seas' is the resorts' flagship restaurant and offers a high-quality dining experience with an international menu in a spectacular location overlooking the bay. The 'Heritage' bar opposite is a relatively new addition to the resort and offers a great spot for pre/post dinner drinks with an enviable view at sunset. We enjoyed a very good afternoon tea here and then watched the spectacular sunset. The Rak Talay restaurant on the beach itself comprises a separate bar and restaurant - both of which offer an amazing perspective for sunset. The menu is varied and is, in my opinion, of good quality. There is, of course, also extensive Thai dining available in the Spice and Rice restaurant. The food here is also of a high quality, and although the restaurant may not always open in the quieter shoulder-seasons, there are always Thai options on the menus of the other restaurants. It is also worth mentioning there is a separate vegetarian menu comprising of multiple International and Thai options, which provided more than enough choices for my wife to enjoy over a three week stay There are also poolside cafes at both pools. I would also highlight the resort app. This is such a brilliant piece of kit that every resort should have, and its extensive functionality really enhanced our stay. You can book restaurant tables. order buggy's, order room service, make spa or excursion bookings, and many other things. There's also a free format chat facility where you can ask any questions. It's all really useful and makes life much easier. The staff are, as always, the real stars of the resort. There are just too many to namecheck them individually whether they are management, front-of-house at reception, the F&B teams at all of the restaurants and bars, the buggy drivers, the cleaners, the gardeners or the maintenance team. They are all fantastic and appear genuinely happy, friendly, enthusiastic, cheerful, polite, helpful - everything you could want from a team at any hotel, and they are an absolute credit to Pimalai. Each and every one of them is the best ambassador a hotel could ever wish for and it is also very noticeable that Genera Manager Brice, is always visible around the resort whether it be simply saying good morning at breakfast, or having a chat pre dinner or being there to see you off when you leave. He sets an enviable example to many other |uxury resorts. Huge thanks to everyone for, once again, making our stay so memorable. I'm currently booking our return trip for 2026 and can't wait !!

My husband & I stayed here in 2013, 2015 and this is our 3rd stay. Our expectations have been exceeded, every time. Our affinity to this resort have grown stronger, for good reason. Highly recommended. 1) Service - Great. This is probably their main strength. The little details (such as "Welcome Back" in tiny flowers on the bed and the thank you note on a mini chalkboard at our last dinner at Rak Talay), the way they anticipate your needs even before you realise it, the efficiency in fulfilling requests, the whole system involved in running the whole resort - Amazing. 2) App - This was new for us and is a game changer. We could have a live chat with the hotel for everything from dinner reservations to getting meds at the nearest pharmacy to getting a door fixed - without having to leave the comfort of wherever we were, whether in our room or on the beach! 3) People - Great. Everyone from the one receiving us at the airport to the drivers to the motorboat operators to reception to beach boys to restaurant teams - polite, friendly, hospitable, patient and authentic. They somehow manage to give you a genuine smile even when in crisis. They are the ones who make you feel like you belong there and you deserve to be treated well. They maintain a high standard and are genuinely apologetic when the slightest thing goes wrong (even when it is trivial and not even their fault). 4) Food - Bfast buffet at the Spice & Rice restaurant was good. At least 60% of the food were halal and they had a good variety. Good quality and taste. We had the buffet for 4 days and we were not bored. If you stay at the pool hillside villa, your fast would be at Seven Seas restaurant. We also ate at Rak Talay on the beach - they can cater to specific food needs e.g. halal. Food was great 10-12 yrs ago, it was still great last month :-) 5) Location - You get the sea/beach and the green forest at the same time. Beautiful. On a clear day, you'll get sunset on the beach... Given it is on an island, the travel from airport takes abt 1.5 - 2 hours (depending on season) involving 2 car pickups and 1 motorboat ride. Not an issue for us because it was pleasant all the way. There is not much outside the resort for us except for a small town you can walk to (about 700m one way) for 7E convenience store, cheaper food, tailor, self-service laundromat & souvenir stores. You can also head out for some cliff / hillside view of sunset at selected restaurants outside (ask for hotel recommendations). 6) Maintenance - This resort is more than 20 yrs old but to us, it did not show at all. We have stayed at the pool hillside villa, beach villa, chairman's villa and this time the deluxe villa - all were great. For a property located so near to the sea (which causes steel corrosion and wood to rot), this property hardly showed signs of being "weathered down". There was a review I read before this trip which mentioned there were signs of things being old, we didn't see this in person. Longest review I have ever written - hope this helps. If you're not looking for motor activities such as jet ski and instead looking for a nice quiet getaway with some fun on the beach, by the pool, a bit of pickleball or just lounging on a verandah with a book...and especially for a romantic getaway, THIS is the place. If I could rate higher than 10 I would! Unbelievable service, excellent facilities in a beautiful surrounding. We will be back for sure!
