American Inn And Suites Childress

Hotel was shabby and run down.

Laughingly informed me that they did not have the room I booked, and I could take one I didn’t want, or I was free to cancel, wait a week for my refund, and find another motel for the night. At 11 pm in Childress, TX. When I asked why he did not call or email to tell me earlier, he just shrugged and laughed. The room I got was gross but I didn’t expect much, I just feel like I got scammed.

So many flies and dead flies

Clean and comfortable room. Great value.

It was one of the worst places ive ever been for a stay overnight. Bathroom, shower was in terrible shape. Did not dare sleep under the covers. Parking lot full of sketchy people.

It's a convenient place to stop for the night but not alot around it for breakfast options. it was noisy with from the highway but slept well

Our tub had holes in the bottom of it. Everytime you would step in it old water would leak of it and it would just smell awful. I wouldn't recommend it.

The price was right and it was a clean room. The air conditioner was very loud and once we got used to it and fell asleep it would wake us both up when it came back on. When off you could here the highway traffic - mostly big truck but thank goodness not many of them. The sheets were very rough, not with pills, but just uncomfortable. I admit I have sensitive skin but it seemed overly rough to me. The mattress was a little too firm for us. The price was good but if you don’t sleep it’s just not worth it. I’d hoped we had found a gem after reading the other reviews. My husband can usually sleep just about anywhere but if he doesn’t then we don’t return.

Nice stay and owners were nice

You get what you pay for. The bed was clean. The owner was nice. But those two things were the only good parts of our stay. The shower had cigarette hokes on the floor. The A/C unit was super old and super loud. It sounded like a cicada running on a metal hanster wheel. When the A/C was not on, you could easliy hear other guest talking, watching T.V., and getting ice from the ice machine. You can easliy hear traffic too. We had 5 flies in our room that my husband had to kill too. We wiped down the sink and tub because we weren't sure it was sanitary, some yellow spots came off of the shower as we wiped it down. It was a sketchy motel. The pillows were horribly lumpy and saggy. We both slept horribly because of the noise and could not wait to get out of there.
