Great hotel fantastic scenic view from Executive rooms with all facilities for senior citizens with impaired mobility

Mountain view rooms are fantstic staff and food quality are excellent

Food was good , service was good , but the room was disappointing

Short and sweet holiday. Good food and good support staff.

I was checking out on the day when there was a "Maharashtra Bandh" called by some social activists. The city of Lonavala was shut down and all the main roads where shut as well. The atmosphere was tense and it was generally deemed dangerous to go out. I was there with women and children. We were therefore stranded in the property. We were expecting the property to take a considerate view and offer us extended check out as long as it was deemed safe to move out. They were not very cooperative on this aspect. They agreed only an additional hour initially and later we ended up paying for further extension which was not caused by anything we could control. More importantly, it was just dangerous to go out and in such situation we were expecting the property to be more forthcoming and understanding. It was very disappointing to see their approach which was aloof and disinterested in our well being.

We stayed for 5 nights. The location and view is excellent. Food is very good with nice variety. Staff also is very courteous and hospitable. Only this is that the property is an old one and needs upgradation.

I chose Dukes Retreat for a weekend with my husband, mom, and new baby. The property and the deluxe rooms have AMAZING views, Incredible to wake up to in the morning. The flowers and general landscaping is done very well, and the breakfast buffet was very good. They arranged a driver room at a nearby guest house The only annoyances were: 1) it took days, two emails, and trying 4 phone numbers to get ahold of anyone before going. The hotel needs to work on their phone lines. 2) both of our rooms were insanely cold the whole weekend - when we arrived they were set at 15°, so we turned off the A/C, only for staff to turn it back on the next day — the rooms never warmed up. This is unnecessary. Overall though, a great stay.
