A very enjoyable weekend. Staff were friendly and the service was good.

We were here Saturday 26th and the power went out during early hours of the morning, we had to go home to shower and have breakfast. Initially I spoke to reception and they said because I'd already paid via expedia they couldn't give me any refund. I was so disappointed in the outcome with knowing if you book through an agent like yourselves we couldn't be helped for the first night. I would never choose to book via an agent like yourselves again I would book directly with the venue.

Generally it was very good but a few things let it down and had i been scoring i would have struggled to give an overall 9. Poor evening service in the dining room. Just a bit sloppy and lack of attention to detail on order taking, arrival of starters 5-10mins apart (had to be chased) ,failing to communicate drinks order, not providing a steak knife until asked. Easily remedied but really for a nights stay of this price and with the recommendation i had been given I was expecting much better. Boiler issue meant lukewarm shower in the room but refund provided for that. Changing room area in the gym was really too small and dark and draughty. Jacuzzi was difficult to get going and was not really at a sufficient temperature. Room score 9 spa score 7 Restaurant score 5 and only rescued by the food itself Was still a nice time and was worth it but small things could have improved it and raised scores. Breakfast score 7.5 Was rather cold in reception area Cant complain about the cleanliness tho that was excellent and a very comfy bed and good nights sleep

First off as you drive in, wow what a beautiful site. The hills, the views, the fresh air, absolutely beautiful and the parking is easy enough although a little odd with diagonal spaces! Check-in was fast and simple, the receptionists were clear and very friendly (a smile on check-in goes a long way!). The room was spacious, lovely comfy big bed, the view from the window spectacular. To be picky, the water was warm, doesn't get hot! Also the towels need binning/recycling as they are very, very coarse and tired. That aside all good. Restaurant you wait a while but in the current climate I expect that. Food, awesome, huge portions of great grub. Gym wise - amazing, loads of machines, free weights, good amount of space and all you need to clean after yourself.

Booked 4 nights to stay with them in November. Perhaps the experience would be better in summer but the room was freezing. No central heating. The air conditioning set for 27C can't cope. Goes on and off every 3 min like a starting helicopter keeping me awake all night. The water in the shower is just moderately warm. Lasted only 3 nights and moved out. The staff was disinterested and not attending. When checking out they were not even interested in why I am checking out early and whether everything was OK. On the first day on arrival I asked at the reception that I am looking for local Mon-Fri accommodation for the next 4 months and whether they have any discounts or memberships programmes. I was promised that the manager will be in touch... still waiting.

Very unhelpful reception, no interest in customer, tried to check in early refused to take credit card and sign in, later on told there were only the earliest slot left for breakfast, no customer service shown

Excellent

Spa facilities were good. Room a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Quality bedding and towels. Sadly, the food was dreadful. Starters were sent back because they were stone cold. Second time around the one starter (mushroom tart) was fine. The other (squid) sent back again. Tasteless and again cold. Unfortunately, the main (duck breast) was sent back too. Again stone cold. The one main was ok, so we shared that. Dessert was fine. It was not a 4 star dining experience. However, the waiting staff were excellent. We weren't the only unhappy diners, and they handled our complaints with professionalism and understanding. Wouldn't go back - this is not a four star hotel.
