"A pretty good place to stay"

6.0

You have to check in at the bakery and can only do it during the hours they are open. Not too much of a an issue because we did make it there in time. We stayed just after fall hours started so the bakery and restaurant weren't open until 11am to 8pm and we weren't going to hang around or come back just to eat at either one. The suite was good looking. There was a microwave, Keurig with Kcups provided, cream in a refrigerator. The fridge wasn't very cold and we had to pull it out to be able to open the freezer to use that instead. The tv in the bedroom got a good number of channels but not most that are available at other places. The one in the tv had even less. The bathroom was nice with very big luxurious towels. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were horrible. One was too flat, two was too big. The problem we had was with the heat. There was instruction in the room on how to adjust the temperature but no matter how hard I tried it remained at 76 degrees all night. And since there is nobody there after 8pm we had to open the windows all night to keep the temperature comfortable. We did like the book that other people wrote in with things they had done and places they had eaten in the area. It made us more disappointed that the restaurant and bakery were only open with limited hours because they got rave reviews. We would definitely eat at the restaurant and get something at the bakery on a return trip but would try for a place that had staff available 24/7.

"Comfort and Style"

10.0

The location, style and amenities were exemplary. The hotel restaurant provides wonderful food, which is also available for takeout and the room came with all the dining equipment we needed. We couldn't be happier with our stay.

"unusual location"

6.0

I knew, from other reviews, that the location of this hotel was 'different'. So I realized that going in. For someone who didn't know/wasn't aware, this could be a possible problem. There are STAIRS for this hotel, and no elevator. And the stairs are a little awkward, in my opinion. And there are two sets of stairs, giving the feeling that you are almost on a 'third' floor. So all of our luggage had to be carried up those two flights of steps. And it is a gravel parking lot, not very well defined (but close to the rooms....) So rolling luggage thru the p.lot is not doable either. I think this set up is not for the older, frail, or otherwise handicapped. Or for anyone who doesn't want to carry their things up 2 flights of stairs. Once you get up there, its nice enough. But it is not like a regular hotel, nor is it like a bed & breakfast. It has more of an apartment hallway feel to it. Very clean, and quiet. Just 'different'. Again, I knew in advance that it would not be like a regular hotel, due to my reading other reviews. It worked for us, however, it wasn't my favorite place if I had to pick one. And it was very odd to not have anyone to contact after 8pm when the bakery downstairs closes. No one. No emergency ph#, nothing. Kind of unusual,,,,,,,,, Gave you a feeling of being on your own. (which we were when there was no one to contact about the internet, which we needed to be working!!!)

"Quiet, Private Inn"

10.0

We were in the area to explore coastal Maine. We loved the inn and our complimentary breakfast. The area is peaceful and very limited in choices for meals or anything else to do in the evening unless you leave Northeast Harbor. Take a book because the towns shut down around 5:00 and plan to know other towns and dining options that are open in the evening. We found the area around Southwest Harbor to be both friendly and available for an evening meal.

"Wonderful lodging in a scenic spot"

8.0

It was a real find and would definitely use again. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Breakfasts were unbelievable-especially the blueberry pancakes. Best of all, away from Bar Hard and it's crowds and Tshirt shops. The bakery downstairs had the best donuts and carrot cake I ever had. Stayed 3 nights. Visited Acadia and did sea kayaking.

"Very comfy and quiet. "

10.0

We loved our stay here. The rooms are little suites with generously-sized bath, small living room with pull-out couch and big King-size bedroom. There was no noise. Northeast harbor area is midway between Bar Harbor and Southeast Harbor. Parking behind building is good because it's quite secure. We brought our bikes and no problems strapping them to deck posts in parking area. Lunch in restaurant was good and included breakfast was also good. I wish they would have offered bakery pastries from out front as one of the breakfast options. We would definitely stay here again. You have to check in at the bakery and remember to ask about breakfast as information is not volunteered.

"Very nice package in NE Harbor"

8.0

Very comfortable suite with an associated restaurant and bakery on the first floor. An attractive outside deck area for lunch and dinner. The seafood meals were quite good and the staff friendly and helpful. The bakery was excellent and the homemade donuts a treat. The only negative I saw was the need to carry all the luggage up two flights of stairs.
