Mitsis Grand Hotel

The food at this hotel is excellent and there are a variety of places to eat at all hours of the day. The staff are a credit to the hotel and it is very well kept. There were not enough sunbeds due to covid social distancing and people would leave summers unattended for hours, this could have been regulated and policed better to avoid sunbeds being hogged by guests. Our room was a little dated and could do with a lick of paint, the rooms definitely let down my overall opinion about the hotel but all in all we were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend it.

The grand is a lovely central based hotel stayed a few times,whilst in rhodes. Mitsis brand are fab . But was left a little disappointed this trip. Hotel extremely busy and was disappointed with covid safety measures. Large que for food no distancing Very limited selection in main buffet which i know is due to covid but perhaps a re think might be worth considering too many in at same time. Was very surprised for mitsis group as members and stay in mitsis hotel on regular basis. Having stayed else where during pandemic can only compare to that and was left a little disappointed sadley. Hotel rooms also needs,a refurb rooms are very old and unloved and look very tired although always clean Staff as ever very friendly and helpful. Love were the grand is ans could be amazing if given same love and attention others in group have had

Room towels were scratchy and bathrooms especially the showers were not great, curtain not screen and no adjustable shower head

Overall the food was good but the restaurants around the pool all close at 8pm. The drinks were awful. The daily fight for a sunbed was a nightmare, arguments, security called, not five star at all. The pool at the front doesn’t open until 10am and security guard it!! We gave up and went to the beach opposite, 5 euros for the day sun bed and brolly, peace and quiet. The bathroom, well, what to say? Anyone with even slight mobility could not get into the very high sided, narrow bath, ( with no plug) the small shower head about 5 foot 6 from the floor on the wall, flops down and sprays water everywhere, you cannot stand underneath it. The sink leaked, hairdryer burns your hand after a minute or so. This is NOT a five star hotel. Banging thumping music until 11pm, ( because the law allows it I was told) when I rang down to complain. Staff are very friendly apart from reception and guest services who lie to you. I paid for a room overlooking the garden and upon arrival looked out onto a slab of concrete. The porter rang down and was told the hotel was full so I went down and on my way to view another room, I asked if he hotel was full, no, she said!! You have to book three days in advance for the Italian and Chinese restaurants, we never managed to get a booking at the Italian, the Chinese was not what I call it spaghetti instead of rice? I would not recommend this hotel or go back.

Most of the hotel staff were fantastic apart from Guest Relations, who weren't helpful at all. There was no information about the hotel & services. The hotel was very clean. The bedrooms were more 3* than 5* - very dated and the old wall mounted hair dryer in the bathroom was awful - not only did it blow out an awful smell, you couldn't hold the dryer in your hand as it got too hot. The booking system for the Asian and Italian restaurant was terrible and for the 9 days only managed to get a booking for 1 night in each. However, the quality of the food in all the restaurants was great. Sunbeds... terrible!! People obviously put their towels on the beds the night before because at 6am in the morning there were no beds available in the "sun spots" around the pool edge. The hotel needs to have some sort of policy in place to address this issue... this was a problem visiting in October, so not sure what it would be like in the high season.

The food in all the restaurants is really great and the drinks are lovely. All the staff are really friendly. The rooms are nice (although the decor possibly a bit dated but not important) but the mini bar is topped up daily and the room was cleaned daily. It was my birthday while I stayed and they left a bottle of fizz and a cake in my room which was super lovely and a surprise! My only comment would be that the pools and sun loungers around the pools were pretty crowded so there could be days when if you went a bit later down to the pool you wouldn't get a sun lounger. They also don't have sun loungers on the beach so if you did want to go to the beach you have to pay for a bed (but even at the super nice beach bars with really comfy loungers they are just 5 euros each a day) Overall a lovely stay!

Great Hotel .. little bit old but very clean and quite . The food is great with a good variation . The staff are very friendly and polite and they serve always with a smile despite the masks they are wearing , BIG respect. The pool water is little bit cold but nice to swim in it .. We will definitely stay at the hotel again in the future.

Excellent hotel with good food, good service and location. Rooms are slightly tired but it adds to the charm of the hotel. Well done to Vicky the lifeguard sat there all day keeping us safe but always with a smile and interacts well with the guests. A real asset to the hotel. Eri in the restaurant is so friendly and welcoming it made dinner a real pleasure Thank you and we will be back

For anyone who is concerned about whether they will be safe on holiday them THIS is your hotel. We moved from another hotel nearby as we didn’t feel safe and what a difference. Temperature checks on arrival and every breakfast. The staff are all amazing but a special thank you to Popi for her amazing service At meal times and a better manager than Nikos you will not find on the planet. They have had to deal with such difficult times in Rhodes but the beaming smiles as they welcome you and can’t do enough for you, is just a credit to themselves and the Mitsis brand. Some great evening entertainment over a drink and the food well there is so much choice and different every meal time. So my advice take a trip to Rhodes and spoil yourself with a hotel that oozes class and customer service
