Tulip Inn Honfleur Residence

We had a bad experience since we arrived late and our phone had gone dead. We tried to use their pay phone but the phone was defective. We waited 45 minutes until a patron of the hotel arrived and knew how to get the room keys from the safe. All was well after that.

It was toward the end of our trip.

Excellent location close by to Honfleur center. Great clean rooms and very cute swimming pool in the garden.

We based ourselves in Honfleur for a 5 day break in Normandy and this was the perfect hotel. Our 4 year-old was very comfortable on the sofa bed and we were equally so in the main bedroom. Having the little kitchenette in the room meant we had added flexibility during our stay - easy breakfasts before heading out for the day. Despite the fact that we didn't have great weather, the heated pool meant we could still swim. We walked into town for dinner every evening - ten minutes along the river. The hotel was clean. The little laundry room was very useful. It was the ideal hotel for our needs and we were very happy with our little holiday.

Hotel had most things required during our stay, it was easy walking distance from the town centre and was reasonably quiet at night. There was ample parking during our 7 night stay, except for the first Saturday where guests were double parking. The WiFi was slow and had erratic connections. When we entered the room on the first day we were hit by a bad (drain) smell, which was coming from the shower. After talking to reception, this was dealt with fairly quickly by putting something down the shower drain and using air freshener. All of the flooring in the apartment was sticky underfoot and it was not possible to walk around barefoot. The table had not been cleaned and we had to buy cleaning products to wipe it over before it could be used. Housekeeping came in everyday, so towels were changed regularly and bedding changed once. For some reason the hand soap we had been given for the bathroom and toilet were removed after the second day and we were never given any more???

I would have liked to give this 5 stars but whilst the rooms were very clean the shower needed someone to get in it and give the walls a good clean , similarly the balcony needed the bird droppings removed.Having said that position is perfect 20 minute walk to the old harbour,there was a small kitchen and the balcony had a great view over the Pont Normandie (room 211).We did point out the shower problem to the receptionist who offered to move rooms but insisted the room was clean without viewing-needs the manager to regularly go around and check!!!

Honfleur is lovely town. Hotel a short wake outside old town on the busy approach road. Beware reception & front doors locked down early and don't forget code to get back in. We did and almost ruined our visit.

Nice apartment and swimming pool. Good facilities close by.

we really enjoy our stay at La Cloiserie, the apartment is very comfortable especially the beds with nice linen. It is a gentle walk into Honfleur and easy access to Normandy sights. Parking is free and easy, we enjoyed using the swimming pool which was pleasantly warm.We stayed in Deauville last year but much prefer Honfleur and will always come back here this was our 3rd visit

The hotel is outside the main area of town but has free parking and you can walk into town in 15 minutes. Parking is an issue in town. Mini grocery store across the street for supplies. The hotel reception closes at 7 pm and you have to get a code to come into the hotel after that. If arriving after 7 make sure to call ahead. Our room faced the street and was a little noisy because we had the windows open due to no a/c and it was hot. With windows open it was fine inside though. Our room had a kitchen, dining table in the living room area and a door between the two rooms. Our son slept in the pull out couch there. Two bathrooms - one with a shower and toilet and one with a bath. Clean linens and nice beds - our first night in France with jet lag and we slept very well. But there is no charm to this hotel - it's just a place to sleep.
