Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites - Dubuque West by IHG

I felt really bad for the staff as 4 house keepers did not show up to work. The staff that showed up were working hard to make the place good but obviously they just couldn’t do it. The hotel looks old and is in need of an up grade. The carpet in the elevators was dirty and coming loose. Breakfast food was good but coffee urn was empty. You just can’t do a good job when so many staff did not report for work!

The staff at this establishment was definitely the high point for me, they greeted us upon checking in and were helpful the entire stay. I chose this hotel based on my previous positive experiences at Holiday Inn Expresses and the offering of free breakfast. The breakfast was serviceable but very basic, it did save us time and allow us to get on to our day right away. The room was not very clean and our socks were very dirty just walking around in the room. Our room was not serviced during our stay and towels were not replenished, we were able to get some at the front desk, I was just surprised. The pool area was in decent condition and a fun time for my kid. The bed was comfortable but the hotel just feels like it is ready for an overhaul.

Pulled up in the parking lot and there were people drinking and making a lot of Racket and Noise. The elevator was dirty and filthy and needed a new carpet in it and in our bathroom the vent was just squealing and didn't work

Not very large. Close to activities and restaurants.

Ceiling plaster from one end to the other above bed was cracked. Worried that it would fall on us. Holes in plastic at window.

Was a good place for a night away. Comfortable bed and hot breakfast
