Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Picayune by IHG

Paid over $200 a night here for a below-standard room with heavily wrinkled sheets that appeared to be unchanged from the previous guest. When this was brought to the attention of the front desk clerk, she remarked "They're clean, the new housekeeper just doesn't care if stuff gets folded right." (She did give us a fresh set of sheets anyway.) This was the most egregious issue, but it wasn't the only one: upon arrival around 7pm, we were greeted by two separate family reunion groups having excessively boisterous celebrations all across the lobby, breakfast area and parking lot. After the second time I told the front desk clerk I couldn't hear her over the noise, she leaned past me and gave a frightening bellow at both groups which quieted them momentarily. I'm not certain how many of these people were actually staying at the property, because the next morning found the breakfast area nearly deserted. This was lucky for my group of five, because there is virtually no family seating in the small space (far too small for the size of the property) and we ended up having to pull two tables together. The breakfast itself was serviceable and not worth complaining about for being free. Unfortunately, in this area of southern Mississippi this hotel is virtually the Ritz-Carlton in comparison to its competitors, so it's really up to you whether you want to overpay here or risk untold horrors in the unbranded properties nearby.

Our room was clean and comfortable except I would prefer it to be a little cooler. I could smell marajuana in the lobby. The hotel feels safe and it was quiet. There’s not a good selection of shows on the tv. The heated pool was heated and felt great.

It was exactly what I needed.

Beds were comfy. A/c was covered by bed and took longer to cool room. Needing a little more attention to cleaning. Showers had great water pressure. My expectations were little on high end for the price paid. Not a bad place to stay overall. Pricey.

the hotel was a little pricey but considering it is the only/best place to stay in picayune, it was worth the money.

We stayed before leaving for a cruise. We plan to do the same again next year. Highly recommend.
