Chateau Star River Guangzhou

The hotel staff was friendly. They made us feel very comfortable. The food from the hotel restaurant was a little over priced. Breakfast $36 USD and dinner $70.

Luxurious Hotel with reasonable price

Great hotel, services and facilities. Was there for the Canton Fair, hotel is located further out but with the free shuttle bus - not a problem. Also fantastic Cantonese restaurant, Spa and Health centers within - there was no need to leave the hotel for food or foot massage after a full day of walking around the Fair.

This is a bit old but clean and neat five star hotel. location is perfect especially for the Canton fair visitors.

Good and Comfortable Stay

We stayed at this hotel as we were conducting business in Panyu. You stay in the apartments away from the hotel. You must take a shuttle to get back to the hotel for the restaurant. There's not much around the hotel, so it is quiet. The staff speaks very little English. I would stay there again as there aren't many options at this star level.

The hotel is great! Don't get me wrong. The problem that I have is that they don't respect Expedia's rate for late check out. They usually charge for this 50% of the rate... but is according to "their" rent... True Story: I called the night before check out requesting late check out and they gave me a rate 50% of their "rack" rate.... so I told them that the next day in the morning I'll make my decision... so the next day at the front desk, they wanted to charge me 100% of the rate they told me by telling me that was the 50% of the rate..... Awful!! I guess you need to be careful. Also, and unfortunate.... the cigar shop was closed, although the staff said it was open, I went there 3 times during their time schedule and it was closed.... I would stay again there just because it is close to the place I work, and the water pressure is fantastic.

It's very far away from anything, but other than that it's great. Very comfortable indeed. Staff don't speak a lot of English, but unless you have a complicated problem, they are very able and happy to assist. Also, great views of the skyline.

The hotel is really very nice. The food is terrible, extremely chinese. But if you teach them, they can manage to prepare some kind of western meals and snacks. Breakfast is ok. We stayed at apartments and they are quite small but really clean and the staff really makes an effort to make the stay very comfortable. We got a free spa coupon, that was really good... Overall I would give it a 4.5 !!

I stay here every year, very satisfied with the price, location and service.
