Hotel Le Grande - Mumbai International Airport

This is really nothing like the photos (maybe except the reception desk). Our room was quite musty. A/C made a lound noise so it wasn't possible to sleep without earplugs. Also there were some electric cables hanging down from the ceiling. Breakfast was just... it was a joke. I sent an e-mail requesting airport pickup and after a week without a response I sent it again and 5 days after that received a laconic ok.

The stay was uneventful. The geyser was non-operative and got corrected only after complaint. Most of the light connections were dismantled (over the dressing mirror and over the bathroom mirror). The free breakfast just ordinary with hardly any choices. However, on the plus side, we found the staff co-operative, accommodative and pleasant.

Stayed there for a night before catching international flight. Bathroom was full of Mosquitoes. No toothpaste was provided unless asked.

Small room. Cramped toilet. Dirty Glasses. Noisy surroundings. Wifi does not work most of the times. Given in rations of 4 hours everytime. Rude staff. And the funny thing is it is a hostel - Your relative cannot come and visit you in your room. You have to come down talk to them and send them off.

This was a very acceptable hotel for the price, clean and fairly quiet with all the basic essentials and ac. The location wasn't the best for the evenings, but it is ideally located near the airport.

We stayed for 2 nights - 1 on our way inti India and another before leaving. The 1st night we had a very small room and tiny, wet bathroom. However the beds were comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. On the 2nd night we arrived very late after a long drive and were allocated a much bigger room. This was far more spacious with a much bigger bathroom. However, the room smelt of smoke and when we asked for a change, we were told that the smell would go away if we opened the windows. This we did, but due to the heat, we had to closed them quite soon . We were exhausted and switched on the aircon. This was leaking water and did not work properly. We were too tired to call anyone. The outside of the hotel needs attention - not a great first impression.

The Hotel is close to the airport which is very convenient. They also have a free airport transfer service. Don't expect anything fancy. Rooms are not the same quality as in Europe or South Africa. The beds were very comfortable. Room 209's aircon (A/C) was very noisy. Breakfast was traditional Indian and we enjoyed it very much. The outside needs some maintenance, as we were very worried when the car dropped us off at the entrance - we thought it was a dump, but after going inside, were were pleasantly surprised. The bathrooms are very small, but sufficient. Make sure about which type of room you book and that it is not facing the street. It is customary to tip the porter 20rs per bag...they linger if you don't.

I booked the room for my parents for an overnight stay. They felt the cleanliness and the overall ambiance of the room and the hotel was pretty much satisfactory. The hotel staff were good and courteous. Also the hotel provided complimentary taxi service to and from the airport.

Set your expectations in line with price paid. Budget hotel, clean overall, simple breakfast. Suspect that a few bedbugs were in my bed though as there was blood stains were my legs rested during the night and I had absolutely no injury...
