"Hotel Le Grande - in the middle of nowhere"

This hotel is situated off a dirt track, off a main road near the international airport. They do offer a free shuttle to the airport but it is in the middle of nowhere! There are no shops etc close by. It is rather grim around there. This did force us to eat in the hotel restaurant which turned out to be very good and reasonably priced. We booked a family room for 4 and were given 3 single beds. If you just want to stay overnight then head off to the airport then this is fine. But, if you want to base yourself here and explore Mumbai you will find it rather difficult as there are no nearby transport links.

I had forgotten my wallet and U.S passport in the room when I checked out, it was only after couple of days I realized and was desperate to get in touch with the hotel to get it. To my surprise the housekeeper had saved it & given it to Front Desk. What a relief!!! A million thanks to the staff at the Hotel who were courteous and professional in their service. Hotel was great for the price and since it was off the main road it was a lot quieter than many others which are on the main drag. Although I skipped the free breakfast it was aromatic and inviting. I highly recommend Le Grande, I'd stay there if i had an opportunity again.
