Aurora Oriental Resort Sharm El Sheikh

Great hotel, we took the standard room and were given a garden room which was perfect for our 4 years old to play outside. The complex is not huge so is very nice to reach from one pool to another and also the beach was only a 5 minutes walk. Nice big warm pool. Main restaurant offered amazing tasty food. Different and options for everyone, fish daily and amazing deserts. All the team was absolutely fantastic reception/ waiters/ animation team. Every night we had a Kids Disco followed by a show. We had Characters party/ pool foam party/ magician show/ face painting/ dance events - was just perfect and nice. Not the extravagant shows, just a nice atmosphere and beautiful people making an evening feel good. Special kudos for NAWAL who played with our boy, but also to the others in her team. Also thank you for all the staff. We had a great chat with them on the beach and hotel, they offered different services but in a very respectful way and not being insisted at all. 3rd time in Egypt. Good value for money.

Hotel was clean and tidy including the garden areas, housekeepers were friendly and room cleaned daily with fresh towels Barman Mohamed was very friendly, hardworking and remembered all drinks orders each time

Just back from 10 days at this hotel, first time visiting with friends. Location was excellent. Rooms are a decent size, clean but tired and could do with updating, but beds are extremely conformable, clean towels every day, tea, coffee and water restocked and also shampoos etc provided. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and hotel areas are being clean and tied constantly. Staff are all wonderful and cant do enough for you, shout outs to Muhammed in main restaurant who looked after all every day, and also Milad at the main pool bar who was so lovely and works incredibly hard and to the towel guys who looked after us too. Food was good with wide selection, yes it all becomes the same after several days but that us typical of any all inclusive. You can eat lunch at the beach or main pool areas also. Did not go to Pitstop bar , did get voucher for a meal at the A la carte but never got round to going so cant comment. Its out of season so very little entertainment especially in the day time its darts or hoopla every day, evening entertainment was average, only went twice, one was a singer the other an Egyptian night. However Yulia from Ukraine was wonderful, very friendly, and took the time to talk to you to ensure you were having a good time which made a real difference. For a change Arab Bucks across the road offers great value food and drinks and goods service, Soho square is only 10 mins via taxi, plenty of shops opposite hotel too. You do get approached a round the pools about beauty treatments or booking trips, however they are never pushy and leave you alone if you say no unlike other hotels in Sharm. The quiet pool is heated which was lovely especially in the mixed weather we had. Only negative would be the limited range of drinks however I would return to this hotel based on my experience

Reception

This is my opinion about this hotel. Check in was nice and smooth, given our all inclusive bands and had our suitcase’s taken to our room by a porter. The room was dated but everything worked ok, nice big bed, my only negative about the room was the wardrobe, it wasn’t wide enough (wall to door) and the door kept catching on the coat hangers and not opening properly, not the end of the world. The food was ok, I have been to 3 hotels in sharm and I would place it 2nd, I always found something to eat and the bbq at lunch and dinner was a bonus, yes food got repetitive but what all inclusive doesn’t, we had the same waiter looking after us, always smiling and going out of his way to find us a table, really sorry can’t remember his name, (tall bloke 😂). I went to all the pools each one had it’s purpose, I do wish they would put a few chairs round each pool, none round the heated pool, the what I would call “the let’s play the same music every day pool” had chairs by the bar so people took them leaving only a few for people who wanted to eat there. The towel guys insist on taking your towel to your sun bed even if it’s a couple of meters away I found this a bit annoying even after I have said “no it’s ok” my wife got told she couldn’t take our towels to the room and had to hand them in to be washed even though we had not used them. (Saving the planet, NOT). Let’s talk about the bars, there is two all inclusive bars upstairs and the Pitstop bar that you have to pay in, only ever seen 4 or 5 people in there so I didn’t go in and why would I at an all inclusive, any how back to the two main bars near the reception, this for me was what let the hotel down, I like to call this “glass wars” after going to both bars over the first few days and sitting mostly on the same seats roughly in the middle of the two bar, my wife went to the bar (yes that surprised me too) and asked for a couple of drinks only to be asked where she was sitting when she showed him he said she had to go to the other bar, I walked over to be told sir you have to use the other bar, I proceeded to go to the other bar, same again to be asked where I was sitting I told in in the middle then only to be told I would be given paper cups (small) with my beer in so I should go to the other bar, at this point I was getting a little annoyed to say the least so I took the best option and moved seats into the bar, goes without saying no tips for those bar men. The entertainment was low key and low budget I thought. I only had interaction with two of the entertainment staff, one I won’t comment about because he sorry or she asked me to put a good review on here about them, if you have to ask people to give you a good review try harder, the other person was Юля or Yulia if your can’t say Юля, always smiling and has time for a chat to everyone, I have a lot of admiration for her as she is from Ukraine and taught herself English in three months, I do wish her well in whatever she does next.

Is my third time in Egypt and first in Sharm The hotel is nice(not very new) The food is amazing, the best i have ever had in Egypt. Also the animation team is really good and the night shows perfect. Defo recommend for families

Rooms were very tired, couldn't have a bath due to the stop leaking, and the shower holder was broken, the shower head wasn't the proper shower head, and the food absolutely abysmal, to cold, not fresh, god forbid you went when it was freshly cooked, as they sent you away to wait. The only saving grace was the staff. Definitely not a 5* experience and certainly not value for money. The location was bare and there was nothing to do in the surrounding areas. It was clean which was surprising given everything else.

Hotel was lovely,gardens were the best we have been to,the waiters and staff were great,no complaints about the food and drinks all were good ,staff were great especially the waiters and bar staff,the animation team were fantastic especially Tulia

This is our favourite holiday location in Egypt, the staff are all friendly from the cleaners to the restaurant staff and from the barmen to the recreation staff. Very clean and quiet hotel, plenty to do if you choose and 2 out of 3 pools to relax in.
