Parador de Mérida

This isn't the best Parador in Spain by a country mile. The reception staff were ok but almost disinterested in having us/checking us in. It isn't in the easiest of locations but we would recommend paying for parking (expensive - 20 Euros). We don't know whether it is haunted but in the middle of the night, one of us awoke to sounds of wailing coming from inside the building somewhere! We never found out the source. Breakfast was ok'ish. It was relatively clean.

Good location, spacious room, reasonable price for Parador.

I did not realize the historical significance of the property when I booked the hotel. It sits in a very old part of the city within walking distance to many historical places. We were able to leave the car and walk to all sights. The staff was very helpful with our limited Spanish. We would definitely stay at any of the Paradors when visiting Spain.

Great hotel close to places of interest and centre

Lovely hotel and helpful staff. Roman ruins very interesting Not a lot else to see in Merida.

Upon our arrival we discovered that the WiFi didn’t work at all in our room and was spotty in other parts of the hotel. When I first mentioned this to the staff they said that their Internet had crashed and they would reset it. I spoke to them several times about it after it continued not working and it was clear that they knew their WiFi had issues. I asked to switch rooms but was told they were at capacity. Very frustrating as I have two small kids at home that I wanted to FaceTime with. Other than that, the breakfast was excellent and there was ample parking in the garage’s lower level. Spaces were pretty tight -drive with caution.

Great location. Walking distance to everything. Great parking facilities. Gorgeous building and very spacious and comfortable rooms. The staff was very friendly and the brakfast was awesome with a very large choice of Spanish treats (wall to wall), including Spanish tortillas and churros. Most importantly, great value.

Great location and most staff very helpful. A few didn’t look after guests well in bar area. Bathroom in our room badly in need of renovation.

A great overnight stay, all too short. The reception staff were first class and the breakfast was really good, Car parking was terrific too and they were very happy that we left our car in their garage until later in the day, well after we had checked out. Our room was terrific, one of the best we have stayed in while in Spain

Beautiful property, walking distance to all the main sites. Only complaint would be the coffee at breakfast.
