It is clearly their out of season time as reception closed the whole time we were there and various works going on. Room clean but all other areas were not. Very disappointed with the price paid.
We arrived to no electric at the hotel due to storm Bert. Fortunately the electric wasn’t off for long, and we were shown to our newly refurbished room. It was nicely decorated, with a large bathroom and shower cubicle. The bed was comfortable and the room warm and it was quiet. The only downside was I paid for a sea view room but did not get this. I got a room overlooking an over grown garden.
Absolutely amazing hotel. Unsure what the bad reviews are about as our stay was amazing. The room was up to date and very spacious, we loved the added touch of the toilet roll haha. The lady on reception was wonderful and so nice. We will definitely be back.
The water stopped working on the final night, although it apparently got fixed. I woke up this morning to it not working at all. Was unable to have a shower. When checking out I tried to let the staff know but I waited for 20 minutes at the desk rang the bell multiple times and no one came. So I had to just leave the key and and was not given an opportunity to make them aware and request a partial refund.
It was a nice stay .we had a lovely bedroom with brilliant sea view.staff were all very friendly and helpful .
Lovely, comfortable stay in a large room which suited us having 2 dogs with us. Staff excellent, super friendly and accommodating. Hotel is comfortable and cozy and is a very old building which the owners are continuing to upgrade. Beautifully spacious and high ceilings with many period features. Breakfast was great too. Will definitely be back.

The town is small and so many people seem like they are friends. they treat us like friends too. enjoyed the staff
Oh dear. Judging by the photos shown here on “Hotels”, I must have stayed at another hotel by the same name. On the plus side, I found the manager extremely helpful, and the other staff I met, friendly and helpful too. I’m very thankful to management for including breakfasts for the 2 night stay as recompense of issues raised during my stay. I think the owners were trying to make a good go of the business, but local government charges and business fees have had an impact on them, and progress has stopped or slowed right down. This was not the hotel I expected to stay in, going by the photos and some reviews. Would I return, not likely at this time. Perhaps after many upgrades to the building and its fabric, I may consider it.
