We've stayed here a number of times over the years and put up with the state of it as the owner was doing it up as it close to the HD rally site. This year we got a room at the top and although it had been renovated in the past it was terrible, torn wall paper, no tv reception, no towel rail, no toilet holder and the worst thing was my wife nearly got scolded with the shower. The lovely views are obscured by paint stains and cobwebs. The pigeons are obviously roosting in the part of the building that is blocked off. From the outside all the window frames are rotted away. There is major rot to the structural woodwork on the beams over the front so much so that most of it is missing. We told pur concerns on leaving and at least they removed our breakfast charge but we wont be back as it needs major overhaul before it even comes up to a decent standard.
Good size room and comfortable bed
Disappointing breakfast. No fruit, one type of cereal and cooked breakfast with single portion of each item.
Staff go out there way phoned about the dog and hotel phoned back nothing too much trouble
Very nice stay and a very comfy bed with a lovely wee view of the ferry port. The male at reception was very friendly and made us feel so welcome!

Room very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Glad to see some changes are being made. Rooms are being modernised. Hope outside can be cleaned up.
Old and with historic value lovely place to stay , wonderful staff.
Really friendly, helpful staff. The hotel was right across the road from the car ferry to Gourock, which was the reason we chose it. An old-fashioned, impressive building - but be aware that there is no lift to the upper floors. We had a nice seaview room, and the beds were comfy. Check-in/out was easy too.
Not very good stay Hotel needs work we had no hot water in bathroom would not recommend
