Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa

Stayed here on a couple of occasions and it just seems to improve on perfect each time. Staff cannot be more helpful, food excellent, room excellent, cleanliness excellent, spa excellent, grounds excellent. Spoil yourself and have a wonderful weekend there, really!!

The hotel is very lovely, the environment conducive, staffs are very friendly and helpful, the room and decor nice, no need for too much words, we enjoyed our stay.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Thornton Hall Hotel and Spa. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and couldn’t do enough for us. The spa facilities were outstanding—spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and incredibly relaxing. The atmosphere was calm and luxurious, making it the perfect place to unwind. The treatments were also amazing and left me feeling completely refreshed. The hotel itself is stunning, with comfortable and stylish rooms that made our stay even more enjoyable. The food was another highlight—delicious, well-presented, and with great variety. Overall, everything about our visit was perfect. It truly felt like a little escape from reality, and I can’t wait to return. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and high-quality spa break.

We didn’t use the spa or have breakfast so can’t comment on that. We arrived a little early and as our room was ready they let us in which was great. Could not fault the staff around the hotel they were all delightful and helpful. The best think was the bed, it was probably the comfiest bed I’d ever slept in.

The shower in our room was going from lukewarm to warm and didn’t really get hot but we just didn’t get chance to tell them. The only other thing I didn’t like was the public toilets on the ground floor, they needed updating as they were quite tired but the ones on the first floor were amazing, I felt like I was in a different hotel altogether.

Fab, midweek escape to our local spa hotel, been many times before and they have never failed to impress - spa was a little busier than usual (we tend to come on a Saturday) and the weather wasn't great meaning more people in the jacuzzi pools and beds harder to find. Food was stunning and seems to have stepped up in the last year significantly, sat on the terrace with a three course dinner (scampi, calamari, rib eye steak, sea bream, thick chips, cabbage, greens and the tiramasu) wine and coffee which was expensive but tasted amazing and worth the money for the experience. Garden room for the first time and again added something extra to the stay.

Booked this as a relaxing girls spa trip, unfortunately that is far from what we got. We all were so disappointed in our stay. The hotel room was dated, stains on the carpet and earwigs around the window. We had drinks in the bar the first evening and noticed rats running on the grass outside. We then headed to the brasserie for some dinner. This was the worst experience Iv ever had in a hotel. There were numerous rats running around the patio outside while we eat our diner at the window. I had never experienced anything like it. The person working in the brasserie confirmed it was an issue they had. When we reported it to the receptionist, her response was that she’d worked there 2 yrs and never seen a rat. A reimbursement for the food we couldn’t eat was never even offered. We did not eat anymore food at the hotel for the remainder of our stay (we stayed for 2 nights). I will never return here and will share my experience

Stayed with friends, room wasn’t clean beds lumpy pillows hard as rocks, staff rude and condescending, serious rat infestation we seen rats running under a gate towards the kitchen of the brassiere restaurant when we brought this up with staff they didn’t seem to take us seriously. We stayed for two night but after seeing rats run into the kitchen we didn’t eat in the hotel again. Wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here. Would give minus if I could
