"Riad Slawi - A true Moroccan gem!"

10.0

The Riad was in a good location in the old town, close to the souks and the main square but far enough to get away from the hussble and bustle. Service received was exceptional - Adam went well beyond the call of duty to ensure we were looked after. The riad itself is clean, very comfortable and completely authentic - our room was superb! As per other posts on TripAdvisor, make sure to arrange with Adam to have a guide to help get you to the Riad when you arrive as you will never find it on your own!!

"Nice little riad - friendly and helpful staff!"

8.0

Overall this riad was great - lovely ambiance and lots of areas to chill out. The staff were excellent and went out of their way for us. The location of the riad was fine, but it was a little further away from the main square than I expected. Also, there was very dim lighting in the room which made it a bit of a challenge trying to put my make up on! And we only had hot water in the shower for about 3 minutes before it turned tepid, so would would have to draw straws on who would get in there first! The friendly and helpful staff made it for us really.

"Clean, Welcoming and Comfortable"

10.0

We were in the suite with a separate bathroom and bedroom (no TV). The room was spotless and comfortable. We had everything we needed. Adam was very accommodating and the women who made the breakfast and did everything else were wonderful. The breakfast was very satisfying and the fact there are only four rooms makes it very intimate. Getting to the Riad was moderately difficult, but this can be said of most places inside the Medina. You catch a taxi to Sidi Ben Slimane (20MAD during day, 30MAD at night from the train station - don't pay more). There are red luggage carts with guides in the square who will take you and your luggage to the Riad (20MAD is the price). This is definitely worth it - you wont find it by yourself. The Riad is quite some distance from the main square on the opposite side of the medina. Depending on your adventurousness this can be great or problematic. Adam will give you a rough map of the way from Riad to square (and walk you over there the first day) but this is very hard to follow once you get into the Souks, but satisfying if you can work it out (look for landmarks carefully as you go). If you get lost you can catch a taxi from the main square to Sidi Ben Slimane for 20 MAD during the day and 30 MAD at night. I would definitely recommend this Riad.

"Traditional Home with Excellent Service"

10.0

This 4-room riad is very beautiful and I was glad to have picked this over the commercialized hotels in the city. This place is located inside the medina and it's 15 minute walk to the Djemaa el Fna. The neighborhood is safe. Ladies just need to ignore the unwanted attention from bystanders because everywhere you go in Morocco will be like this. The owner provided us all the information we needed to explore Morocco; he was very detailed, helpful, and personal. Breakfast is provided every morning; the Moroccan pastry and mint tea are delicious. Upon request, the owner also provides a home cooked meal for an extra cost. The meal that we had was simply the best during our stay and I highly recommend it!

"Best one I've Visited"

10.0

I stayed in 3 Riad's in marrakech and this was the nicest one by far. Great restaurants near by with bars as well. Easiest Riad to find also. Streets in that area are very well sign posted (was difficult loctaing other Riads we stayed in). Visit of the week

"Riad Slawi"

10.0

Beautiful Riad, located north in the old town, conveniently close to the Souks with an excellent restaurant a minute walk away. Adam the owner is very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfasts are great. The suite room is lovely with a lounge and air conditioning. Being right in the centre of the old town is useful but can be very daunting on the first day, be prepared for getting lost in the maze of streets. Arrange a taxi from the airport, don't take advice from kids or people telling you directions and carry spare change for tips and taxis.

"Beautiful Riad, softest bed and fresh pancakes a hidden gem, have just re-booked to return again"

10.0

This is a wonderful little secret gem hidden away just a short walk from the main square. It is in a perfect location and is a beautifully decorated Riad. The bed was so so comfortable and the room really spacious. The host Adam was like a big brother to me and my mum when we stayed and he arranged the taxi for us and even leant us umbrellas (it rained but we still had a great time). I have never written a review before but felt compelled to do so because I wanted to share my experience. Every morning we had a lovely breakfast that set us up for the day, fresh bread and pancakes and coffee in a lovely setting. Some little tips which may be useful. The people are so friendly have an open mind and heart and you will meet many friends. There is a bus service (Supratours) to Essouria about 120 dirham return(£10) takes approx 3 hours with a stop - definitely worth a trip. You must not miss visiting the womens co-operative that sells Agan Oil treatments for your skin (I like the masque with Argan oil and rose - amazing). Also close to the Riad you can buy beautiful moroccan silk scarves which are hand woven in amazing colours and styles you will pass this place on your way in, you can ask Adam or his friend Mohammed who can show you.

"Great Hospitality"

10.0

Although my travel partner and I had a little trouble finding the hotel once we first arrived, it was the only negative aspect of our stay. The hotel owner is incredibly hospitable and made our stay a delight. Only thing I'd tell others would be: know exactly where you're going before you land in Marrakesh!
