The Norwich Inn

The property is gorgeous and the staff are so hospitable. I received text updates from them through arrival and they even let us check into our room early! I would highly recommend this inn and the staff wholeheartedly.

I stayed at the Norwich Inn for 5 nights while taking baking classes at the nearby King Arthur Baking School. The school recommended the Norwich Inn on their site, and I'm so happy that they did! What an absolutely delightful and charming place! The inn is larger than I expected, with a main house, a second building behind it more like a very small hotel, and then a small house in the back with 4 rooms. I stayed in Ivy House, the small house at the back. My room had a king size bed and, most gloriously, a gas fireplace with a sleep timer! Being able to fall asleep with a cozy fire was unbelievably decadent! And beyond that, the room was so beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. I also at dinner at the main restaurant once, at at the pub a couple of times. The food served was delicious! This is not just a B&B with some muffins and coffee in the morning. The restaurant is a high quality restaurant with a varied menu. And even on nights when they are serving "just" pub food, what you'll get is delicious! But the real highlight of the Inn is its staff. There is a desk blotter on the front desk that says something like they hope to turn guests into friends. And I tell you - I believe them. Every member of the staff treated me like a regular from the second I walked in the door. I even met some of the local regulars in the pub at the inn, and THEY treated me like an old friend. Gretchen who checked me in, Morgan in the dining room, Ron at the bar, Dale who gave me rides to my class, Joe and Jill the owners, David the innkeeper, and others whose names I didn't get (and I apologize if I'm getting some of the ones I remember wrong)... Every person I met brightened my day, and made me feel like the REALLY cared how I was doing and if I was having a pleasant stay. I was legitimately sad to leave not just because my vacation was over, but because I felt like I would miss these kind and lovely people. If you need a place to stay in the area, don't miss out on the Norwich Inn. You'll feel so cared for and at home!

This inn made such a comfortable home-away-from-home for our four-day, five-night stay. The room was so cozy, especially with the fireplace! The front-desk staff were always pleasant, friendly and very accommodating. This is one of our favorite places anywhere and we will definitely be back!
