Hotel do Cerro

Great room, nice views, good facilities, but the toaster was a bit slow at breakfast!

The Hotel is comfortable and the reception staff very nice and helpful. The location was also good. The negatives were the meanness of charging for things.It cost to use the gym! it costs for a fridge!. The other negative was the quality of the food....very average canteen like food not befitting a 4 star hotel. Another annoyance was that the wireless that was supposed to be free and hotel wide did not work in our room. Irritating to say the least. I would say it is a good 3 star hotel, but not a 4 star.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed. It is a quirky hotel in terms of its layout, the location is great, on the hill overlooking the fisherman's harbour but close enough to walk into central Albufeira. The hotel is very clean and cosy; the beds comfortable. There is a good selection of English TV channels - even got to see Match of the Day! We were on half board - excellent value for money - food was good, home-cooked although not a great deal of choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a good place to base yourself if you like energetic walks although the bus runs from the front of the hotel.

Hotel is ok, location is good only 5 minutes walk to albufeira old town and there is a city beach close as well. The hotel itself it is nice but rooms are very basic nothing special and what kills you on entrance is that you have to pay €4 per day to use little fridge - nonsense. What kind of 4 star hotel does that? They charge for almost everything, €5 for gym, €5 for sauna, €5 for jacuzzi soon they will charge for sun beds at outdoor pool! They have facilities for the 4 star hotel but nobody uses them as it is ridiculous to pay for every thing that you expect to be for guests use. The only good thing about the hotel is the dinner - good value of price and very good selection of food each night. Breakfast ok the same thing every day.

We loved the room... the view, the bed, the whole room was awesome... except we had ants... When we complained they just said sorry and didn't offer a discount or anything. For that we were disappointed as when we made it to our next location we packed some of those pesky ants with us. We did however like the location a lot, view of the ocean and was quiet!

This hotel was fantastic value,particularly the indoor pool as outdoor still too cold in march. Scenery around coast & walks spectacular, goes without saying!Only small fault was that things like cold baked beans @ breakfast doesn't really suit UK custom & most prefer Uk sausages not european version!Great selection of food & lots of it. I will be back definately.

The hotel was cheap well located for a short break- the area is OK if happy with happy with Meat & Chips - to find the typical Portuguese fair you would have to travel. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and it was within easy walking distance of beach and town
