Hôtel Dandy

The woman working there is so nice that it made all the difference for me. The hotel was immaculately clean.

Charming little hotel in choice, historic pedestrian part of Rouen. Quiet and convenient, nice lounge area.

Arrived early afternoon. Greeted (?) by a receptionist who appeared not to want to be there. Room was on the top floor and comfortable enough apart from pathetic pillows on the bed and threadbare towels provided - we had to chase down a second towel. Street below very noisy with the party or drinking not finishing until after 4.00 am. Double glazed windows not enough to stop the noise. Room rate was cheap but if you want a decent night's sleep, spend a bit more and go to a quieter area.

Very comfortable, clean and friendly staff. Vincent, our host was fun to talk with and always helpful. Neighborhood is sweet with cafes on the street at night and a low level night life going on. Room is fun with old style furniture and updated bathroom.

We were a 2-minute walk to the old market area (and the site of Joan of Arc's martyrdom), and about 10 minutes to the beautiful cathedral. Good-sized room with great water pressure. Proprietor makes his own calvados!

The staff member was very polite and helpful but this is a run down, shabby hotel that should not be rated 3 star and should not be charging anything like 110 Euros per night. The room was unventilated and extremely hot, although it was not that hot outside. It was too noisy to have the windows open at night and the curtains were flimsy and too small so it was very bright very early in the morning. Breakfast is not included in the price.

Fantastic welcome from Vincent - top notch service and very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. In tghe end we booked a further 3 rooms for friends/family as well

This small hotel was charming and comfortable. The owner was helpful as were the staff. The location was just right for us, within walking distance to the major sites in Old Rouen. As to be expected, the elevator was very small and the stairs were steep and narrow. Parking was extremely difficult as was driving in general through the old town.

Booked an overnight stay in Rouen on our way back to the ferry at Dieppe. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean, just what we wanted. The proprietor spoke excellent English (much better than my French) and was very helpful when we asked for local knowledge. Small, a bit quirky, and very French, a perfect place to stay if you want to be in the heart of Rouen within easy walking distance of the Old Square and the Cathedral. Would happily use it again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this small hotel. We received a friendly welcome, and helpful information about local events. Our room with an interesting street view, was comfortable and clean. It was only a short walk to the centre of this beautiful city. Breakfast was very good as well.
