Hôtel Dandy

I booked this hotel because the other reviews said it was clean and nice. It was clean but the toilet in or room didn't flush completely, when we asked then to fix it they responded "they tried to fix it last week. That's the best it can be. The WiFi was hit and miss at best. You had to keep signing in. But the worst thing was the location. It is in a depressed neighborhood with tattoo parlors, night shop and vacant buildings! The bar across the street is noisy, and right outside your window. It was close to the center of town which was nice.

Unfortunate experience. We arrived late Saturday afternoon in Rouen and the town was in wind down mode for the weekend with lots of people in the street at the bars. Rouen has a oneway town road system so you will most likely have issues finding any hotels in the "old quarters" We could only park in the allocated hotel parking for one night and then had to move into public parking the next day. So be aware if you are driving. After dinner we returned to the hotel to find a very inebriated person passed out in the corridor. As the reception is unattended we had to call the mobile number left by the Duty Manager . Hotel management was most apologetic and did come immediately to sort it all out. Service recovery was made in offering our breakfast gratis as we had a very disturbed night. Bad luck I guess.

Needs a lot of cleaning, redecpration and modernising. Seemed to be run by just one person who was good but needed help to address these problems.

The owners/staff of Hotel Dandy were very helpful in helping us book our next nights stay when we fell foul of Expedia's booking system, and finally actually made the booking for us. Unfortunately we left forgetting to hand in our room key. We posted it back from our next stop when we discovered it in my husband's pocket. Hope it arrived safely.

Very difficult to get to with a car! Leave it at parking Vieux Marcher. The staff was extremely helpful. Rooms were small but charming- just what we wanted for our vacation. Close enough to centre.

room had double glazing that did not stop the two nights of noise in the street coming from a bar not far down the street. Not the hotels fault, but very annoying. Hotel staff were accommodating.

I don't know what else Rouen has to offer, but this hotel was creepy.
