Lots of insect bites from unseen tiny creatures in the room. The receptionist wasn't all that interested. At checkout I was short 1 cent to pay the city tax and the receptionist insisted on getting it. It gives a whole new meaning to penny-pinching.

Very quiet and peaceful location. Beautiful complex, our room had a nice terrace, room well furnished with all amenities including shower products. A nice welcome gift of a bottle of water and some cookies. We had a loft room as 2 adults, very spacious although the access ladder was steep, especially in the middle of the night. ok for adults, I’m not sure about leaving children up there unsupervised. Very tranquil pool overlooking the vineyard with a nice jacuzzi. Check-in was smooth and the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful lobby area.

A lot of supplementary costs I am more used to seeing in a business hotel used for expense accounts rather than a vacation establishment. (coffee and tea in the room - nespresso capsules charges at €1.50 each, €12 parking, €17.50 breakfast, etc). A lot of rules which made us feel we were staying in someone’s home, rather than paying guests in a hotel: bikes have to be returned by 7pm, pool closes at 8pm. the entire property is no smoking or vaping. No smoking makes sense as the property is quite small and the rooms very close together, no vaping seemed a little excessive. if these rules had been stated clearly on booking.com we would have probably stayed elsewhere as vaping on the street felt uncomfortable due to the proximity of the neighbor’s homes. The entire complex was almost silent with guests quietly moving around. Very peaceful but I would have preferred more advance notice of the rules.

- The family loft is simply unusable during summer. The bedroom upstairs has only a very small opening and no windows at all, so the heat is building up to the point where it's simply unbearable to sleep. Since you’ll have to keep all doors and windows open to allow for a bit of ventilation, you won’t have any privacy whatsoever given the bungalow like architecture and the sleeping room facing the parking lot. Ironically the hotel claims soundproofed windows. - The ladder to the upper floor is very steep, and the security lock didn’t work. I’d say it’s difficult for kids under age of 4. - What is supposed to be a hotel is a very expensive B&B with some cleaning service. Our room didn’t get cleaned for two days though. This is also the only service that you won’t pay extra for. Everything else they’ll charge you for it. - Wifi didnt work for 2 full days which is a third of the time we spent there. - we’re wondering how this classifies as 4 stars as the hotel doesn’t meet some of the criteria. The equipment of the apartment is far away from being adequate for a 4-star rating Do we bother if our room is not being cleaned once? If the Wi-Fi is a bit unstable? No. But it’s the small things that add up to an overall impression and dissatisfaction, especially bearing in mind this is a whopping Euro 420 per night. The worst though is the attitude of the hotel management. Even when one politely explains the shortcomings, the answer comes across with great arrogance and lack of self reflection. It is not always only about what doesn’t work but rather how management responds to it. It's a pity, we could have been returning visitors as we really liked the island. But we cannot recommend this stay for a family during summer season.
