Stayed here one night between flights. Check-in was fast and efficient, and the staff were friendly. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. WiFi was reliable, although I was a bit annoyed that I had to sign up for Hilton Rewards just to connect.
The room had a flat-screen television with local channels and Netflix capability. The hotel is very close to the airport (about an 8-minute drive) and conveniently located near the Tri-Rail, which is just a short walk away and provides easy access into Miami.
Furniture is a bit dated and stained, but it wasn’t a setback.
The bathroom was stocked with high-quality, full-size Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion), which was a nice touch. There is a Wendy’s on site, but otherwise you need to cross the street for other dining options. I can’t comment on those, as I arrived late and left early.
Breakfast was excellent and exceeded my expectations. It runs from 6:30am–9:30am and offered a wide variety of options, including scrambled eggs, egg white bites, sausages, grits, waffles, bagels and breads, whole apples, yogurt, cold cereals, hot oatmeal with toppings, coffee, tea, water, juices, and a generous selection of butters, jams, and spreads.
Overall, this was a great stay—consistent with what you’d expect from a Hilton property—and I would stay again for a short overnight. That said, for a longer stay I would opt for a cheaper hotel. I paid about $180 CAD for one night, which felt far too expensive. For multiple nights, I’d choose a nearby budget hotel or an Airbnb instead.
I read several negative reviews about the airport shuttle, so I decided to skip the potential headache and take an Uber instead—especially at 1:00am, I didn’t have the patience for delays. I’m sure the shuttle to the airport is a better experience, as it runs every hour on the hour.
