Beautiful hotel and wonderful people! I stayed for business, but would absolutely return for leisure. Centrally located and easy to walk around town.

Awesome in everyway. Hotel is beautiful, perfect location and staff is so nice. Breakfast and drinks at the bar - amazing.

Although a bit too luxurious for us, this was a really wonderful stay experience overall. We loved the staff and their coherent kindness and service attitude. The location could not be better to explore the charming city, and the park and garden landscaping is just beautiful. The conference and meeting room facilities are perfect.

I literally liked every detail in this hotel

Newly renovated room on the 7th floor was exceptional with views of downtown and the bridge. Staff was highly accommodating for reservations and room service. Definitely a five-star experience - looking forward to returning in the near future.

The Charleston Place was in the perfect location in the middle of Charleston within walking distance to the shopping district. The Atmosphere was exceptional and every aspect of our stay was incredible. Can't wait to stay here again.

For such an expensive hotel- they failed in several areas. Construction above our room started at 7:00 a.m.. Blew out the TV and electricity in the room. Engineers said they hit the power line. Hotel didn't even acknowledge the inconvenience. Woken up two days in a row to power drills. The Thoroughbred Restaurant was inconsistent- Same dish tasted completely different on different days. Second day the food was completely over-seasoned. The 10-15 min wait time to be seated turned into 45min not because they were busy but because the Hostess forgot about our table of four. Grown men eating with their shoes off in the restaurant- Bad food- poor Hygiene - Bad service.

This was not the review I planned on writing. I wasn't even going to write a review, but maybe it's the only way to get a response. My husband and I went for a long weekend trip mid-April. I'll make a long story short. Our confirmation stated the pool was under construction until Fall 2025, must have been a typo because it is currently closed - no problem they said you can buy a day pass to a neighboring pool and we will reimburse. The Ryder is closest guess who doesn't sell weekend day passes for the pool. Not a dealbreaker but a bummer. We called prior to our arrival asking if they had a hair dryer with a diffuser - my curly-haired friends know- they said there will be one in your room when you arrive. Yay! One less thing to pack. Unfortunately, no, we were misinformed we were told by two different people at the desks they do not have diffusers. We were told we could walk over to Target to buy one. I don't need to purchase a whole new hair dryer when I have one and was told one would be provided. The last issue was the real issue. We had no working air conditioning the last two nights of our stay. The first night we thought it was because we kept the curtains open during the day. So we closed them the next day but after being out in the morning still not cooler. We informed the front desk and they said they'd send up an engineer. We went out for the day came back several hours later no cooler in the room and no engineer had been by. We went to dinner came back, still hot. Went back down to the desk they sent up a fan and finally an engineer. He fixed the issue until about 2am when it ceased working again so we had a fan to cool the room. We checked out early the next morning and let the front desk know. They said thanks and a manager would reach out to us about the issue. No one reached out after a week. We emailed the hotel the next week when we hadn't heard and we still have not heard back from anyone and it's now been two weeks. It is a beautiful hotel, with very nice staff, but we just did not have the relaxing experience we were expecting from this caliber hotel. I don't know that we'd stay here again. I left feeling very disappointed. If someone asked I would say it is not worth the money.

Amazing arrival, stay, and departure experiences. The room service and restaurants are excellent. The stores in the hotel and on nearby streets are top of the line. The variety of bars on King street is very good. The atmosphere of the hotel makes you feel like you’re always on vacation.
