Staff are good Breakfast was really good The room was clean and beddings clean and comfortable. Didn't like the surrounding area, but that's a personal choice.

when I checked in I wasn't. told how to get back in when I returned late at night. after I was dropped of by a taxi I found I was locked out. it was very dark so I couldn't, see what I was doing I was pressing door bells & banging on the door. Nobody came. It was midnight I am 81 years old & I found it very frightening as I do not know the area & I thought I was going to be locked out alnight. I walked to the main road & 2 young women helped me. They walked back to the house with me & one of them noticed the fob on my key ring she tapped it on the box by the side of the door & the door opened. I was so relieved if it Haden't been for them I don't know what I would have done. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. that could have been avoided if I was told about the fob on the key ring.

Bed very comfortable, tv worked, shower good, everything clean, local area ok. No reception as such, no guest lounge, no information about local amenities, the staff member who let me in vague when asked. Breakfast not good - cooked food very overdone, coffee atrocious, breakfast room dark and dingy (and was the only place where I could wait for my taxi next morning). Washed hair only to realise no hairdryer (apparently these were available on request, I later read in the hall).

We were shown to a poky, stuffy room next to the kitchen. Kitchen smells still lingering. The facilities were at best basic. Nowhere to sit apart from the small double bed. I can't comment on the breakfast because we decided not to spend the night. The area around the place looked a bit dodgy as well.

How this place has a decent review score has made me question the validity of the reviews. The area was awful, the building was grim, the whole place was musty and grubby. It felt as if I had entered a half way house for the homeless. The smell of someone cooking greasy fish absolutely filled the air.. then backed up by the sound of drunk homeless looking people arguing outside other half way house looking buildings through the paper thin windows, was the last straw.. I had to leave..

The hotel fulfilled my requirements in easy reach of the office Xmas do & the cost was less than others like Premier Inn and it parking on-site & adjacent, the twin room was clean but dated and it had shared bathroom. At £68/night I thought it reasonable

Property looked much better in pictures, rooms very tired in particular bathrooms with many diy bodges and stale smell, breakfast ok but host not very friendly, apart from fried food all Diy service. Location for visiting central city perfect.
