Castle Hotel

This is a lovely hotel and although it is pet friendly and I have pets myself I couldn't sleep for the dog that was barking most of the night on my first night so I told the hotel next morning. I then checked out because I couldn't have another night of broken sleep

There were lots if lovely little extra touches in the room that you don’t usually get from a comparative hotel stay. Very comfortable.

On the positive side, the staff in the pub in the evening were pleasant and the food and drink there were very nice and reasonably priced. There was also a nice touch with a set of drawers on the landing containing emergency essentials in case guests had forgot anything. On the negative side, the room was a bit shabby and tired, the TV was broken (and looking back at previous reviews has been broken for months), the wifi was awful both in the room and down in the pub, and the young woman who served my breakfast looked like she still had her PJs on and would much rather not be there.. Overall, including the room rate and food/drink in the bar/restaurant, I spent over £100 on the night and have to say it wasn't great value. I wouldn't book there again unless I was a bit desperate.

Lovely room with lots of nice touches & all the home comforts included. WiFi signal was poor & unable to get Tv to work. Cooked to order breakfast was good & nice atmosphere in the bar. Would stay again
