Hotel DeFuniak

Everything about my stay went as planned. The building is over 100 years old and as such, I understood some of the quirks of the property. That is part of the experience staying at this property. My only area of dissatisfaction was with the climate control. it seem to have a mind of its own. However, they do say that the property is haunted. So maybe it wasn’t the climate control after all.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay- loved the ambience: charming old-style hotel- very comfortable and well-decorated- Chef Ernie is a great host and ambassador to the community..

Great place to stay puts you back in time and restaurant is wonderful

Delightful small hotel with an excellent restaurant attached. Slightly off the beaten path but clean, friendly and reminiscent of earlier times. Located within walking distance of restaurants, a bakery/coffee shop and several Tesla superchargers.

Disgustingly filthy. No staff on duty. Street parking in sketchy neighborhood.

No one at front desk ever

Love the style and decor. Could stand a bit of cleaning, but overall a decent place.

Room was dirty, lighting practically nonexistent, a/c window unit was pitiful, property in poor, neglected and unsafe condition, bedding was atrocious, no phone, no clock, no radio, and internet service did not work, etc. Bathroom door knob did not work. Shower stall dirty and moldy.

Hotels.com indicated exercise room was available, but there was none. Free breakfast was beignets, which are delicious but not much choice.

This place was awful. In our confirmation we were warned there would be no front desk receptionist if you checked in after 9pm. There was literally a print out of our bill to sign and a guest copy that had a wifi code and door number to get in with no human contact at all or sign if any life at the building. As we went upstairs the carpet was filthy dirty and our room was disgusting. We had the presidential Suite and had 5 people in our party but only room for three to sleep. There were wall unit A/Cs, drywall peeling off the walls, open leftover contrainer of Reece pretzels in the refrigerator, and a couch that looked like had been picked up from a local flea market. The bathroom door would get stuck and our kids got stuck inside twice, if no one was there, there would be no way for them to get out of the bathroom. The beds were old and had matress toppers. When I finally found someone, they at least were accommodating to get extra blankets, towels, and pillows. It said free breakfast with purchase and it was literally coffee and a scone. This place had good reviews and rated very good but pictures completely misrepresent this hotel. Extremely disappointed and not worth the $240 charged for sure.
