Hotel DeFuniak

Quaint, historic hotel. A hidden gem. The excellence of the management is hard to find in today’s world. A wonderful, restful step back in time!

The facilities reflect the old world origins of their history. Much could be done to brighten up old and worn accessories like rugs and curtains to maintain the historic feel in a more attractive way. It shows it’s age but would not have to with a few attentions to detail The staff were wonderful and Chef Ernie was a delight.

The Hotel Defuniak was an older building with tons of history in an interesting location. The Cafe Nola right next door was a great place for dinner. My family and I really enjoyed our time staying at the hotel and visiting the surrounding area.

We never saw anyone who worked there. Picked up keys left on counter. Advertised with breakfast and there was no one to asked about it and no breakfast. No hair dryer in room.

Turnkey hotel experience. Inside lobby and room nostalgic. High ceilings. Clean.

Very nice old hotel that has been updated. Room had a window unit air conditioner and a nice bed. The restaurant and bar is GREAT!!!!! I 2 very good meals and several good drinks my two nights I stayed there.

Rained that night, we woke up in middle of night to drips from ceiling on bed that continued all night. No one at desk to let know

Nice place. Restored historic hotel. Ambience is good. Very quiet. Spring fed lake and historic district down the street. No breakfast provided though like advertised. Attached cafe doesn’t open until 11:00 am. Check out is at 10:00. I still have it great reviews because the ambience matches my personality perfectly. It’s just a quiet little quaint place.

This is a quaint hotel with historic downtown walking directly abutting it. If possible, try to stay in a room that does not front the main roadway as the sound of passing traffic takes getting used to in these rooms. I enjoyed walking around the lake and partaking in the local bakery and Bogey's just a couple blocks away.

The Hotel Defuniak is a cool, swanky place with a very old style. We got an ACTUAL key and check in/check out was SUPER easy! The building a rooms were very old fashioned but clean and neat. It could stand to be a bit cleaner though. The remote was kinda sticky even after I wiped it down and the shower walls could've been wiped down better. The attached restaurant was amazing and Nikki our waitress was phenomenal! The food was hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned! Nikki was very friendly, kept our cups full, and was overall just peppy and nice. The downside... The tables were a bit sticky and the floors could've used a good onceover with a dust mop. The seating was older so there was a perment indent that I kinda sunk into when I sat but all-in-all, a good experience.
