The Fox by Greene King Inns

Room comfort. Well appointed. Parking outside the room. Location.

Staff obviously overstretched. We expected a breakfast bar but had to order it from server. Thus cereal, cooked breakfast and toast arrived together. Not good. Worst thing was basin plug was missing an O ring. They knew! So we paid a fair price for a basin that could not hold water. Also, Velux needed dusting and at sometime the outside needs washing. Not difficult.

Characterful inn excellently located close to the centre of Bury St Edmunds. Room was spacious and quiet, and I had a really good sleep on the comfy mattress. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was relatively simple but very nicely cooked to order and was very tasty. Nice to be able to use the on site parking for the rest of our day in town.

No significant issues. Might have been nice to have had a cereal option with breakfast.

Location good for visiting family. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely, clean and well presented room.

Few spotlight bulbs in toilet need replacing but that’s a minor issue
