Room was very cold, radiators did not come on until 17:00 hours. The mobile electric heater did not work until it was repaired by the staff. The hall and passageway was very cold permanently

The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very good with a nice walk in shower. Also the products in the bathroom were very nice. The staff were friendly

We had lunch with a party of friends and the food was quite awful. The fish was very dry and the consistency of cardboard. The chips were very good but the peas were hard. When we finally checked into our room, the room was bitter cold and the radiator was off. Luckily there was an electric radiator in the room which we had to keep on all night. We had an evening meal and unfortunately this was also disappointing. The trout was tasteless, the gammon steak was very over cooked and tough and could not be cut with a knife. The breakfast was mediocre. No choice of fruit juice and the water jug was very awkward to operate.

A great stay for a gathering of cousins for a family occasion. The inn was very accommodating, making sure that we had a nice room for our party of 10 for our meal together. They were welcoming to the dog we had with us, she was delighted with the attention!

It was a little off-putting having to decide breakfast before bed, we did not really do justice to the items we'd chosen as we were still rather full of the excellent dinner. Had we been able to choose in the morning we'd have opted for lighter selections.

Room was nice. Staff was friendly.

Breakfast was terrible. We ordered pancakes that were pre-made / pre frozen rubber. Breakfast wasn't edible and we had to eat elsewhere. Why can't you make breakfast for your guests???

The pub was charming and I'm sure we'd have enjoyed spending the evening in the bar if we hadn't been working. The staff were lovely and even left drinks in our rooms because we knew we'd be coming in after closing time. The rooms were spotless and thoughtfully decorated, and there was a fridge with fresh milk and a big bottle of water.

The guest area and bedrooms were absolutely freezing, both in the afternoon when we checked in and when we got back at bedtime after an evening working. There was a supplementary electric heater in our room, but nothing in the lounge area. The rooms were small, had no flat surfaces to put anything down and there wasn't even a chair in ours (a room for two people), just a narrow window seat. The mattress was really lumpy and creaky so we didn't sleep well. The plumbing was eccentric - the toilet cistern didn't automatically fill after flushing and you had to pump the handle to fill it; and the shower had no apparent means of switching between the waterfall and the shampoo spray. Breakfast finished at 9.30am on a Sunday, which is crazy early for a weekend (although in fairness the chef was very nice indeed, bore with us being a bit late, and was very concerned that we should have everything we needed). There were capuccino machines in the dining room but they weren't switched on: for breakfast there were just coffee bags (really?) and hot water in a flask.
