"Unforgettable lunch at the Tinkuy Buffet Restaurant"

10.0

After exploring the ancient grounds of the Incas, Machu Picchu. What better way to end your exploration by having a lunch buffet at the Tinkuy Buffet Restaurant in Machu Picchu. Not only do you feel welcome by the friendly host, the service provided is out of this world, especially if you are attended by the most kind and friendliest waiter, Alexander Diaz. Not knowing what his plans were throughout my lunch, he pleasantly surprised me with a miniature birthday cake and a choir that sang Happy Birthday to me. That nice gesture will definitely be engraved in my memory for life. “Bravo” to the management and the friendly staff at the Tinkuy Buffet Restaurant and for the delicious cuisine I was served. I would definitely make an effort to dine at this restaurant after your exploration of Machu Picchu.😋

"Amazing honeymoon stay"

10.0

We had an incredible honeymoon stay here. Unbelievable food, kind staff, and an amazing experience doing the ‘sunrise breakfast’ experience. We were even given an upgrade AND champagne for our celebration. A massive vote of thanks must go to all of the staff who served us. Russel is one of the kindest, most competent staff members I’ve ever come across. Andrea and Jaciel are both incredibly slick, and ably supported by other staff like Alexander and Brayan. Yes, it’s expensive, but they really deliver. A definite must if you want to treat yourself and stay just steps from Machu Picchu!

"Lovely room, excellent service"

10.0

We had a lovely two night stay here in a room with a patio, full board. Each night cost a tad over USD2000. Worth it? Overall, a big yes - with some very small qualifications. Big pluses: the service is excellent (ignore other reviewers who say or even suggest otherwise) at every level. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Food at the restaurant is very good (breakfast perhaps could offer more variety and better fruit?) with all fish dishes a highlight. If you're booked to see MP at e.g. 08.00, you're on the doorstep - great. If you think you're going to see MP from the property - you're wrong but they absolutely don't claim that you can - but hey, you're 20 metres from the entrance and the views of the wonderful surrounding geography are to die for, the gardens are gorgeous too. Are the rooms large? No, roughly 15m squared, small bathroom and shower. Are they comfortable and well-fitted? You bet they are, with a very comfortable bed and excellent amenities. (Ours was a patio room, there are other rooms that overlook the MP entrance and bus park that might nor be so quiet??) The hotel seems still to be under threat of closure after the lease ran out in May this year, so watch this space - but hopefully it will go on and if it does and we go back to MP, this is absolutely where we'll stay.

"Excellent"

8.0

This hotel at a different location would be at 1/4th the price Staff is amazing but too much, overwhelming most of the time. Entrance to the Machu Picchu park is limited to the same times as the masses of tourists which diminishes the value of staying up at this lodge significantly. Food was very good
