Hill house Hotel

Very dated, squashed mosquitoes on the ceiling, rubbish furniture in the rooms, harsh bright lighting, no comfy or cosy feeling

This hotel is a very basic hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable. Bathrooms are done in a Japanese/Taiwanese style being open meaning that there is no shower curtain and you can just get the whole bathroom wet as there is a drain in the middle. The walls of the room as well as the carpets in the halls are stained and have seen a lot of wear. Breakfast is very very basic. The options are dry ramen noodles, toast, with butter and jam, boiled egg, one type of cereal and a chicken rice like soup/porridge. Orange juice, milk, coffee and tea are available. The staff are super nice and friendly and the location is quite nice located within a 10 min walk of Myeong Dong and the excellent night market.

Its hard to find at first. but once ypu get the hang of its pretty close to many attractions. BEST PLACE TO STAY FOR DISCOVER SEOUL PASS user.

The only positive is the attentive female front desk staff who agreed to watch our baggage for a few hours (after we checked out) so we may walk around outside. However, there are always two lousy male desk staff in the evening that was rude and often smoke outside. Worst of all, both my fiance and I both got numerous insect bites all over our arms, legs, and face every morning. The weird thing is, the windows are closed. We have made several complaints to the front desk staffs who just waves it off and tells me its very normal to have insect bites every morning. No insect ointment or repellent were available. The breakfast is very limited with the same food everyday, though we rarely eat breakfast in the hotel anyway (why would anyone eat breakfast in a hotel in Seoul, when there are tons of good food outside anyways). The hotel is in a okay/uphill location, but good luck finding your way to myeongdong or anywhere else without a gps.

The place is ok and accessible to everything. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping malls, some tourist places , and night market. But I suggest it would be better if they get a receptionist who can understand and speak English. It’s hard to deal a receptionist who doesn’t speak English. Only the lady by the name of Helen and the fat guy who can speak fluently but they are not working every day. They are very helpful and easily to reply of what you ask for. There are two guys at the frontdesk are not accommodating and can’t speak English. They are even mean. They clean the room everyday. The breakfast is good. But I suggest it would be better if they change to different menu everyday so it won’t get tired to eat the same food every morning. I like the hotel. Very simple and clean.

Staff are amazing!!! They assisted me arranging a taxi Since my flight is at early morning. They Stored my luggages for 3 days since i booked again after my busan trip. Rooms are clean and big. Food for the breakfast is simple but Enough to start your day. I would definitely come back to this hotel if ever i will go back in seoul.

A really good hotel in a great location surrounded by abundant restaurants, coffee shops, stores, and more. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

Location was nice for us. Easy access to NamDaeMoon Market, Namsan walk, and Myung Dong. Breakfast provided was nice, but would have been better if they have 2-3 different menus alternate by day of the week, rather than the same menu thorough out the week we stayed. Bath towels are old and worn, would have been better if they are fairly new.

My husband and I were pleased with Hill House Hotel. It was inexpensively priced, provided. a good breakfast to start our day, and the staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel was within walking distance or easy access to public transportation for visiting local tourist sites.

Most of the staff were extremely nice, welcoming, and helpful! Our room was cleaned every day and the air conditioning was awesome! Breakfast was alright. Great location! It is a 15 minute walk from the Myeongdong shopping district and super close to the bus and subway stations that will take you anywhere! 7/11, a cute little Korean restaurant with the best fried shrimp ever where the nice, female Korean owner does LITERALLY everything by herself , and the best Subway ever were all right around the corner. Highly recommend for a bargain stay!
