Hill house Hotel

Closer to subway, easy to get around. Nice and quiet. Beds are hard and not so comfortable and pillows flat so sleeping amenities could be improved. Breakfast acceptable but didn't vary in 5 days. Staff very good.

This hotel was in a great location and the staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were a bit hard, but we found that’s just common in Korea. I would stay here again if I was coming back to Seoul.

We arrived at the hotel at 8am and were able to leave our luggage with the hotel so we could explore on our first day. We had a deluxe room and it was worth it for the space. The hotel also provides free water bottles per guest a day which came in handy! Room also has a microwave, kettle and hairdryer as well as other regular items in hotel rooms. Bathroom doors are glass translucent, so you can’t see in or out, but it is a bit off putting if you don’t know your travelling companion well! Please note, there is no safe if you wish to store valuables in the room. Braakfast is simple and served strictly between certain times, therefore if you have early tours out of breakfast hours miss you will miss out will need to sort your own breakfast! The room itself is clean and tidy and WiFi is strong as there is a individual device in each room. There is also free WiFi in the lobby. Staff speak English well and are very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic and only a few minutes walk from Hoehyeon subway stop and Namdaemun Market which has a great selection of clothes and food. Also within 25 minute walk to Seoul station so you can get the AREX back to the airport. We would definitely recommend the hotel and book again if we visit Seoul again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Pleasant and enjoyable

Good location - close to subway stations with local restaurants around - and quite spacious. Don't expect too much on the breakfast. They erroneously thrown away our contact lens solution (guessed it was mistaken as almost used up water bottle...) that I sincerely told the front desk guy but he insisted that they would not make such a mistake - but we all know that it should be the only reason it was lost. I told him the fact with good intent so they could pay attention in the future. I declared that it was not a complaint or with any request since it's not a valuable item, but he insisted that they did nothing wrong that I was so disappointed. Other than this, the lady welcoming us the first day was really nice and helpful. Overall, it's still a fine hotel.

Pros- The staff were really friendly. I lost my phone the first day I arrived and the staff kept calling my taxi driver so that he could return it to me, I’m really grateful for that. It is very affordable & the hotel is clean. This hotel is also located so close to Seoul that so many tourist destinations are within walking distance (Myeongdong especially) Cons- I thought they would have more amenities (I really needed an iron and microwave). No room service (as in food). There were days where my door was left open from the staff cleaning (I’m not too mad about that). The bed was kind of hard but i think that is just the traditional Korean way. I don’t have many complaints about this hotel at all. I had such an amazing time in Korea, I wouldn’t change a thing. When I return to Korea, I will definitely be booking at Hill House Hotel.

Great help from friendly staffs. It is a very clean and cosy hotel for an old building. The room's facilities were all working fine with no hiccups. Location was ideally located with many good restaurants and convenient stores nearby it. A short step slope climb was the only minor issue which could be a problem for people hauling heavy stuffs.

I liked how quickly I was in and out of the property. It's located on a hill and right next to a scenic path leading to Seoul's N. Tower.

Very nice staff and wayfinding signs outside the train station.

The hotel is perfect for the budget, no frills traveler. I stayed with my teenage daughter and the local environment was safe and nice. Traveling back from the subway or bus was a pain due to uphill walk so we would use a taxi and avoid most of the climb.
