"Great location, nice pub with good food, not best room"

6.0

Best bit was the staff. He worked incredibly hard, always seemed to be multitasking. Great welcome, food at pub was excellent, location was great - right opposite the gorge museum on main road. Breakfast was at another venue, two doors away, that was nice.

Bed was quite uncomfortable and very squeaky. There was a glass floor overlooking the old malt drying kilns, my wife did not like that at all. However, price was good, and we were only staying for one night

Låg vackert invid floden

Det fanns bara en liten pall att sitta på, saknade stolar i detta relativt stora rum

"Location was great, but wouldn’t stay here again."

3.0

The location was fantastic and the bar downstairs was great.

The room was very tired. The main light didn’t work, the bed had crumbs in and the bathroom wasn’t at a good standard. Musty smell throughout the corridor and room. Didn’t sleep all night as the bed was so uncomfortable. Staff were not particularly helpful.

"Lovely location and staff, charming property. You just need to sort a few issues keeping the place from getting a higher"

6.0

Lovely old building in a stunning location.

The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom was falling to bits. The lock on our room broke and we couldn’t get back in and had to wait nearly three hours to get our stuff out of the room to check out. We asked for a fan and were told they don’t have any. I have worked in hotels and guest houses myself and this is a standard item that should be available for guests. I can’t fault the staff onsite; they were wonderful and the breakfast was excellent. I understand the need to balance the cost of upgrades in this economy but it seems obvious the place is skimping on maintenance. The outside area of the pub needs a gardener to sort it out, it’s all overgrown at the back!

"Ideal place to stay!"

8.0

Situated ideally to visit Ironbridge, close to the park and lots of walks. Very old building with lots of history and very comfy beds. Handy free parking and the meal we had there in the evening was great, with helpful staff. Breakfast was in the building nextdoor but one and that was good with lots of choice and a friendly waitress.

"Overall, a pleasant stay"

7.0

Great location with car parking. Quiet at night. Great price, including nice breakfast. Spacious room. Nice staff. Some servicing of room each day.

Would have paid a little more for bit more servicing of room (quick vacuum and wipe of bathroom). Stair leading to rooms is depressing - needs better lighting and definitely new carpet! Yard that accesses car park needs cleaning up. Pub is meat-orientated so maybe not ideal for vegetarians but atmosphere fine.
