The Woolpack Country Inn

Disappointing for such an expensive room. Broken toilet seat, bath coming away from the wall, dirty tile grouting, dismal lighting, no coffee machine. Breakfast was OK although there was a poor choice of fruit and no follow-up attention at the tables for eg more coffee.

This was a lovely country pub with great accommodation only let down by the terrible damp smell in the room I really hope they get this sorted soon as it would be a great place to stay again

I was very lucky to stumble across this pub with rooms. Food was outstanding! Rooms were lovely and staff very helpful and friendly.

Firstly, I should state that this is a beautiful pub set in amazing countryside with lovely staff and great food but.... I have been staying here for many years on my frequent visits to Southampton. I prefer non-chain hotels and the standard of this place has always impressed me (so too the breakfast!). Unfortunately time has passed and the rooms look quite shabby in places. We have one of the smaller rooms with twin beds and the mattresses were like coffins. There were spiders webs and dust pretty much everywhere and broken fixtures which were patched and should have been replaced. My sons pillow had a huge line of dust on it which we assumed was left from a dryer but it wasn't very nice to look at. Please also be aware that breakfast is served quite late (8.30 onwards) if you're planning to make an early start. I think this is getting on for inconvenient for most people and would recommend they move this to slightly earlier (perhaps on request). Overall I love this place for its cosyness, service and location but will find it difficult to rebook in the future as the rooms are really starting to let it down.

A really nice place to recover from a long walk. Good food for the evening meal and a great breakfast. The outdoor areas could do with a little greenery to complete the peaceful ambience.

Lovelly place friendly staff

The wool pack was a comfortable and warm stay, the deep soak bathtub was definitely a highlight. The breakfast was pleasant and the chef accommodating, the additional continental offerings were a nice touch. The room wasn’t the cleanest, cobwebs in the bathroom and small stains on the bedsheets but otherwise comfortable. Small details such as the wifi password not being provided in the room and no milk left with the tea and coffee were frustrating oversights.

Nice room with really nice bath tub! Couple of things though need tweaking - the teas and coffee were not refilled in the room plus no UHT milk. The room should probably have netflix given the price, flowers out the front of building were dead, pillows in the room are cheap and for some reason the safety exit light in the room gave a bright green glow making it hard to sleep! Just little things but at £230/night I expected better. Food in the restaurant was nice.
