Tregenna Hotel

Lovely clean hotel. We stayed one night while visiting relatives. Room was spotless and we had a breakfast in the morning which was lovely and hot and cooked fresh. Would recommend a stay here based on our one night. Staff were helpful and polite. Has off street parking. A little old fashioned maybe but not important as the hotel was spotless. We would definitely go back.

We went for the Merthyr Rising Festival - which was excellent. This was really easy walking distance. Not fancy, but clean, comfortable, and a very nice place to be for a weekend. Owners were welcoming.

The only good thing about this Hotel was Emma the manager, Merisa was very nice and the housekeeper. I stayed in a single room, which was not bad, but the shower curtain in the bathroom was badly stained and the inside of the windows was black with dirt. I could not get the shower to work I did not know which was the hot or the cold water. The night porter was horrible he was not interested in the guests. I has a continental breakfast and the toast was has hard as nails. I also had a bowl of chips one day and they were horrible to. I will not stay here again and I would not recommend this hotel.

Everyone is rude and the hotel is disgusting Only go there if the other choice is the street Breakfast is the worst of the UK Rooms are big enough Bathrooms are ok Weird localisation but close to bus station

Booked here for 6 nations Wales v England Rugby trip, rooms a little old fashioned but clean and tidy, the staff we did come across seemd pleasant and happy, I would definitely stay again, £40 taxi to Cardiff

Great place! Staff too, except took 15 mins for someone to come to desk. Room very nice except bed very uncomfortable as springs in mattress protruding...needs new mattress immediately. Reception lady very helpful with taxi and leaving luggage etc Would stay again apart from the bed!

Really nice clean Hotel with very considerate and hospitable staff. Spent a few nights here with my family whilst touring the Brecon beacons. Really clean and comfortable beds / rooms. This hotel is literally a stone's throw from the Brecon Beacons, Big Pit, Mountain Railway and other wonderful attractions in this area. I would recommend to all.

Used to be one of the flagship hotels in Merthyr. Unfortunately gone a little downhill - although nowhere near as poor as some of the Hotels I've stayed at in London. Appreciate it was New Years Day, so staff were busy. However room had a musty smell, dodgy curtains (and no shower curtain!), and insects in the bath! Also found an empty crisp wrapper behind the bedside cabinet. As I say, not the worst ever, however a spring clean would not go amiss.
