Tregenna Hotel

I booked a single room but was offered a double due to quiet time after Christmas. There was a misunderstanding with the breakfast that I asked for when I checked in as I was told 'no breakfast' when I went down to the resturant but a kind gentleman cooked me something. Another family arrived not long after me so I don't think it was my mistake? If you like fresh coffee for breakfast, I would suggest taking your own. Overall, a very comfortable stay. The rooms are being re-decorated so don't be put off by the old fashioned design.

It would of been nice if some kind of information had been available to say that the doors would be locked at 10pm on a Sunday.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights staff at reception very pleasant and helpful also tried out the restaurant over the two nights I stayed there the food is very good a good selection on the menu for bar meals well worth a stop over also car parking at the rear of the hotel ...

Friendly staff,comfortable room, enjoyed my stay

Me and a friend spent 4 nights here as a base while we explored Brecon Beacons and it wasn’t that bad. Nice welcome when we got there from a lady with Blonde hair and a man with dark hair. We tried to ask about breakfast to the lady owner and she said yes just come down and we will get you breakfast so we did and the man owner told us we couldn’t have breakfast and we had to book the day before. So we brought our own and had breakfast in bed each morning.....much nicer. On our last day while we was packing the cleaner locked us in our room so we couldn’t get out twice as we was taking cases to the car and the second time we had to ring down to reception for them to let us out. But it was clean the shower was good and the bed was comfy and that’s all we needed. Half hour away from most of Brecons amazingness and it has a complex near it that you can grab food from. Not a bad base...

Run down room smell like a old person and need a good scrub but bedding was clean and nice staff. Stayed there only for couple of hrs of sleep. Big spacious room, 24hrs open reception. Can't complain for what we paid..

We were in town for a football match and checked in very easily Breakfast was paid for separately and was pretty okay-last orders were 8.30 which was a little early to be honest

This hotel building is looking a bit dated now, but the rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. I received a friendly welcome and the staff were very helpful. The hotel has a nice bar and and restaurant serving good food at reasonable prices.

The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were generally very clean with fresh bedding and comfortable beds. Yes the hotel could do with a little tlc, but lets face it, If you want a 5 star hotel, then pay the 5 star price! I will stay again next time i'm in Merthyr.
