House 5863- Chicago's Premier Bed and Breakfast

There was no stay. The day before my arrival, they canceled my reservation by text message. They were unreachable by phone or email or text from weeks before right up to their cancellation.

Made the reservation and turned up at the door to get in. Locked and no one was present. Called the number on the door twice over the course of 45 minutes and had to leave a message both times. No one returned my calls. Another person turned up too and had the same problem. We both left to find other accommodations. Strange way to run a business.

The room was comfortable and quiet and clean.

The first day we were there the dirty dishes were not cleaned up and there was spoiled milk and OJ in the referigerator. This situation was ameliorated the second day.

It is very clean, comfortable and quite place with a good location. I like the room design. I found a very convenient kitchen with the necessary breakfast foods, delicious pastries, a varied selection of teas, and freshly brewed coffee in the morning.

I liked everything about it.

Friendly management. Nice location. Comfortable feel.

We were greeted by the host with a friendly attitude and was very cordial. He showed us to our room, showed us around the building and gave valuable information regarding our stay and how to use our passcodes for the room, bathroom and front door.

What an amazing gem! I booked this a few days before visiting friends in the area and thought that the prices would be high because of the last minute nature of my booking. Not at all! Not only was I around the corner from friends, to my happy surprise the property was hidden in plain sight–tucked into the middle of a neighborhood block I never would know it was there. This placement just adds to the charm. There are many rooms available yet it doesn't feel crowded. Passcode entry makes for even more of a sense of security. The sitting rooms and outdoor porch area are decorated to facilitate a cool and relaxing atmosphere, an oasis in the city. Impeccably clean, with just the right amount of decor in the room to be comfortable. Erick's hospitality was attentive yet not intrusive. I appreciated the Coivid policy, which added to my sense of comfort. I can't wait to make a trip back and stay even longer to enjoy it even more! Other guests were respectful of the early morning rising and kept conversations low. Love the self-sufficient well-stocked kitchen that all guests can access. Within walking distance of so many shops and restaurants, parks, and more. Simply delightful.

I have nothing to add for improvement. So well thought-out, the space is inviting, and the decor facilitates that so beautifully. The added touch of cotton bathrobes and Aveda products? Icing on the cake. I'm sure there are more small and delightful touches I might overlooked only because I was there for one night. Hospitality is an art, and this place epitomizes that art form. Being in the house makes you feel welcomed and cared for. It was only a night, but I feel like I just got back from a week's vacation.
