Villa Vaucluse Apartments

Clean and functional apartment, nothing flash but in a good location a short walk to restaurants, esplanade and shops. Well equipped kitchen. Secure entry and internal courtyard area. Easy access with key box.

The front apartments are right on the street which can be noisy, so if this matters to you maybe request one of the apartment at the back overlooking pool. Messages from Gina are fairly curt, don’t expect any warm or accommodating service and be ready for her to enter at 10am sharp. They were waiting at 10 minutes before 10am as we were vacating the apartment and we felt hustled out even though we were not late. To access the pool you walk through an underground carpark. Nice enough once there, but like I said earlier, general vibe is practical more than aesthetic.

Central location great. Easy access to centre. clean & roomy.

Street noise. Bright internal villa lights made sleep difficult. No mosi/fly screens.

The location so close to the Cairns main street and Lagoon was fantastic . The apartment had plenty of amenities and the beds were comfortable .

The only real issue we had was storing our bags when arriving early before check in . It was stated on information provided that luggage could be stored at Cairns Aquarium and so from the airport we headed straight there . However , on arrival to the the Aquarium I was told luggage can be stored only for visiting guests of the Aquarium and I would have had to pay a $58 entry fee. This information should be clearly stated . For those people wanting to store bags there is a travel shop along the Esplanade that stores luggage for $7.50 per day . Ask at the Cairns information centre.

We found the lounge suite very uncomfortable, but everything else was fine.

The apartment had everything you would need for a stay. Really enjoyed the pool.

Bed was too small after staying earlier in a Kingsize bed.

Quirky place , it had everything we needed, My partner who smokes didn’t like leaving properly at night to have a smoke as she didn’t feel safe outside the premises

Great location, within walking distance to everything

No WiFi although it was advertised in price....completely failed to connect.
