The room and its outlook were excellent. Brealkfast was good and the evening meals very good with a range of options. Both were included in the tariff. Walking around the near deserted township in the evening when all the touists had left was a treat. The township's atmosphere and history were palpable.

The stairs to the upper level where my bedroom was located was a minor challenge for old knees. Also, warning not to arrive early and expect to be given your room.

"Relaxed, comfortable … made us feel very welcomed"

Set in a beautiful little town the Star Hotel was a perfect get away for us. The rooms and amenities were clean and comfy. The meals were delicious and a great selection of drinks to choose from. As a bonus I had the chance to pat the beautiful golden retrievers Tilly & Rupert. Recommend this place to people who enjoy an historic place to stay.
