Sunset Island Resort

We were not told of any renovations during our stay prior to confirm the booking but there were re-painting works around our rooms including our doors for few days. The new paint smell in our room was almost hazardous level for a week.

I don't normally give bad reviews but was disappointed with this place. Location was great and the rooms/apartment were spacious and clean. However several things let it down. Firstly - they didn't notify us they were doing renovations. Which I can forgive, I can cope with paint fumes for a few nights. Secondly - they thought it was appropriate to paint our room door while we were out, leave a note saying the door had been painted, and then prop the door open and leave it open unattended. We arrived home at 4 pm shocked to find that anyone could wander in and out, with all of our valuables and belongings unsecured. Luckily no harm done but still, it wasn't a happy day for my security conscious parents. Staff were quick to apologize although somewhat begrudgingly. Thirdly - apartments are not serviced, and there is quite an emphasis on you cleaning up before you leave (dishes, vacuuming etc etc). That wasn't immediately obvious to me when I booked. In truth I don't mind, but I do expect this to be clear when I book.

Stayed a week, they upgraded us from 1 bed to 2 bed which was nice. But unit was not clean enough. Poorly equipped kitchen. Easy walk to town, but quiet at night.

Close Enough Go The Action But Far Enough Away To Be Quiet.

Felt very unwelcome from the owners. I understand that this place attracts families, but dont make other groups, who don't fit into the family category, feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

stayed there for 3 nights .Was good , close to the beach and river . and close to the shops and Restaurants . Bus to town is right in front of the resort .

Two bedrooms with two bathrooms, washing machine and dryer. Good size apartment for the family. They loved the pool and the shops and beach were a short walk away. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Everything was great, the only downside was that you could hear everything from the others rooms and people in other rooms could hear you. Would have been better with noise concealed apartments.

4 stars??? I question that! Not even close. Don't bother with this place unless you like cheap places and paper thin walls!

I had one week there with my son, its very comfortable to stay. Staff were really good to help, very good service, specially staff Sue she was very nice and kind, i want to say thanks a lot to here, made my holiday better. The place is very quiet and very near shopping restaurant and beach
