The Sebel Whitsundays Airlie Beach

A very steep driveway and no help with your bags when you arrive- as Jim’s shuttle service refuses to drive you to the reception entrance or advise you that there is another entrance not as steep - This place is not for people who struggle walking or have a heart condition The view was amazing - the pool area was well maintained - the bed and pillows were comfy - the lounge was uncomfortable and not suitable to relax on - the bathroom was smelly - the toilet was dirty - the shower was mouldy - the kitchen only had very basic utensils In 10 nights our room got serviced once and they didn’t change the bed sheets at the time because I had already made the bed - it was so disappointing and being of Sebel association we expected a better standard

My mother and I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, we were initially assigned room 1122 which was supposed to be ocean view, but it wasn't and after speaking to the very kind and helpful Nicole at Reception she moved us to 1622. Having room 1622 absolutely made our holiday, the view was superb and we had the sun in the morning and in the afternoon on the balcony. The location of the Sebel Whitsunday is superb, about a 10 minute flat walk into the city centre. The only incline to note is the driveway. My top tip would be to ask the Airport transfer company to drop you off and pick you up from the basement if you have any ability concerns. The pool was sensational and was perfect temperature. The facilities in the 2 bedroom apartment were basic but had everything you need. We did a Coles delivery order as there is not many food options directly nearby.

Lovely, easy and great location

We stayed here for 4 nights. The staff were all lovely and very attentive and helpful so no criticisms here. However, despite lovely views, the room we had was very dated and smelt dirty when we arrived. While it’s not far to the centre of town (10 or so minute walk), it’s not a pleasant walk along the road so if you are elderly or have young children I don’t recommend staying here. The views over Airlie Beach are lovely but due to the nearby main road and nearby construction, it’s not that relaxing staying here.

A very disappointing experience. The resort is in need of an update. We were overcharged and left after the first night.

Our family enjoyed our 3 night stay in a 2 bedroom ground floor apartment. It was clean, airy and bright, and had everything we needed including a kitchen and washing machine and dryer. Our room also had direct access to the heated pool. Upon booking, there was excellent communication provided by reception including quick confirmation of our stay, followed by informative messages regarding airport transfers, upgrades available and food options in Airlie Beach. Will return. Thank you.

Pool area was nice

We had a couple of issues the TV was smaller than advertised and bedhead light was an issue and bathroom was cramped. Getting to reception was a bit challenge as driveway was a tad steep. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Good location, tired looking, needs maintenance, especially in bathroom.
