Sun Siyam Iru Fushi

We visited this hotel and the wonderful island 12 and 13 years ago, when it was still a Hilton. This year we were 3-rd time from 03/11/26 to 03/25/26. Since we really enjoyed our vacation, we would really like to share our impressions.   The island and the hotel have become greener (there is a lot of trees, flowers that is being cared for), more well-groomed, cleaner and more comfortable.  We was pleasantly surprised that there were more restaurants. We had half board, but for us the food was varied and it was possible to combine different restaurants.  We were very pleased that, taking into account our wishes, we have a villa with a swimming pool (No. 248). It was really very appreciated by us, as we had previously stayed in villas nearby (246). It was also very nice to receive compliments and gifts (wine, cake at the restaurant for Olya's wife's birthday, snorkeling). The staff has become more attentive and responsive. I would like to mention (thank you) separately: 1. Our butler Aizhamal, who was always in touch. She solved all the issues very carefully and promptly (!). She was helpful, correct, and unobtrusive. I was comfortable with her.  We very appreciate that have a personal butler. 2. Nalaka (in my opinion, I filled in his name correctly. I'm sorry, if  name is not correct) the restaurant manager and the restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner most often. 2.1. The food is varied, tasty and fresh. I was pleased with the availability of high-quality fruits and vegetables, cheeses and meat (especially for Europeans). As for us we did not eat much European food (we preferred local and Asian), but what was from the usual European fried eggs, pizza, spaghetti, soups was good and enough for us. 2.2. There was a lot of fish, fresh (!!!) and cooked. And even seafood. There were much kinds of smoothies, juices and other drinks, as well as all kinds of canapes, sweets and pastries. Healthy and delicious food and drinks. 2.3. I was very pleased that the cuisine alternated between Italian, Maldivian and others. We didn't get tired of the food for 15 days, we had a choice. But the local food (Maldivian Indian) is very tasty and fresh,  varied and not spicy. It was delicious and pleasant. 2.4. The restaurant staff is very attentive and empathetic. Almost all time observed was available all the time, there is enough of everything. They cooked rather faste, despite the influx of people. 2.5. I would like to thank and highlight once more Manager Nalaka separately, because without him, the restaurant and staff would not have worked so clearly. This is clearly his merit. And for all the time at breakfast and dinner (even when it was late), he was always in the restaurant, correcting everything himself. reported, wiped. Personally, I was constantly involved. He (saw other people) asked us what we were missing. Apart from the obvious professional qualities, this apparently comes from the heart. 3.The new owner and management of the hotel, as in 12 years the island and the hotel have become much more comfortable and pleasant to relax. The disadvantages of the restaurant:  1. Waiters in restoran sometimes took a long time to bring drinks (except water) to both us and people. 2. The choice (and prices) of wine in the restaurant are very small. 3. Sometimes it was noisy because of DJs, music, various programs up to 12 p.m. We are supporters of a quiet relaxing holiday. 4.Prices or some discounts. As usual want to have cheaper….. 😉 Keep it up. Very exciting arrival on seaplane and speedboat. Idyllic white beaches and turquoise sea. Stayed in water villa on stilts. Delicious Indian, Italian, Asian and islanders grill restaurants. Tranquil adults only infinity pool and amazing snorkelling seeing sharks, turtles, Rae fish and barracudas. Stunning sunsets with live saxophone playing on the beach and Golden Hour sunset cruise seeing dolphins. Complimentary facial and massage. Excellent facilities for wheelchair dependent disability and friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Truelly relaxing and idyllic holiday in paradise!

A massive shout out to the Sun Siyam team for an amazing holiday! A special thank you to Pasan for all his support from start to end, to Silini for being the sweetest soul in showing us around and making us familiar with the resort, and an even special thank you to Imraz. Imraz’s role was to be our butler during our stay, however, to us, he was more than that! Imraz, went over and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. At times we had to decide to walk from the villa to the restaurants, bars, etc, to make sure Imraz was not overworking himself! He is a true asset to have. The resort was nothing but immaculate. The food was exceptional. Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, wholeheartedly captivated us and we will certainly be back!

Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is 5* luxury with a relaxed beach atmosphere. The island resort is an idillic natural Island with mature vegetation, white sands, crystal clear waters, house reef and lots of smaller reefs to explore. Restaurants include main buffet style with excellent range of freshly prepared local and international foods so much to choose. Speciality restaurants were well worth a visit or two. Bamboo, Taste of India and Tepanyaki were all delicious. Islanders Grill was a touch of class dinner on the beach under the stars with the most beautiful food and drink. Reflections is a great adult only pool/beach area with an Ibiza vibe. Delicious Lunches available too. Finding the secret sundowner cart and ice cream cart around the island is a special treat. Entertainment at waters edge Bar was always a good night. The house band and singers are amazing. We were lucky enough to experience the Eid celebrations and Maldivian afternoon and evening. So special to enjoy this celebration with all the team, including food, dancing, music and local cultural activities and history displays. Blue light snorkelling was an amazing experience as was the boat trip to the local Atoll capital island for a visit learning of the culture and customs. Spending an hour or two in the spa was well worth it. Making you feel relaxed and special from start to end. Accomodation: we stayed in a beach villa with pool and access directly to our own area of the beach with loungers. Beautiful accomodation with a bed view of the ocean. Outside bathroom with large shower, plus separate sun shower, jacuzzi bath, toilet and swinging daybed. Note all villas are being upgraded to include pools over the next year. We viewed a newly renovated over water villa at Boli beach and would recommend if you would prefer direct water access. All water villas are getting an upgrade too. The team: amazing! Not one single member to complain about as they were always happy and polite and extremely helpful. Nothing is ever trouble and never any expectations to tip etc. we definitely tipped those who we came across. So many to name but just a few to mention who we felt gave us exceptional service. We were always interested in a chat discovering their stories. Finding out many came for a short time but stayed many years more than intended, a good sign of an excellent team and employer. Firstly shout out to our main man Thahseen who met us from the seaplane and looked after us, kept us updated with daily activities right to the minute we stepped back on the seaplane such a beautifully kind soul. Our room attendant Raseedul what a delight so so talented leaving us daily messages made with flowers and plants and towel art animals. Stocking up the fridge and toiletries daily. A lovey man. Nahendra at waters edge- plus all the guys there. Happy and chatty and always happy to find your preferred beer in the face of an international shortage of estrella! Many amazing cocktails and mocktails to choose from and always happy to suggest one to try. Anu - this guy works everywhere at all times. Another hard working and happy polite soul who we found to be delightful. All Restaurant teams need a mention too great food, service and standards. The tepanyaki chef what an entertainer! A must for any holiday. The spa team- always around at breakfast wishing you a good meal and day without being pushy to book anything. Quietly present. Enjoyed a facial with Debby from Bali such a beautiful lady. And a hot and cold stone massage - can’t remember this ladies name but again such a pleasant member of the team. Our guide for the island trip was knowledgable and happy to answer our many questions. Thanks to the boat crews for the sunset cruise and island trip also. The buggy “taxi” drivers are amazing stopping to offer a lift if they see you walking around and happy to be called to drive you home after a busy day. All the gardeners and maintenance teams also very happy and polite always saying hello whenever you see them around. Working hard to keep the trsort running and looking pretty. We cannot thank each and every team member enough for their exceptional service. We will definitely be back hopefully 2028

Right after landing at Malé Airport, we had no trouble finding a staff member from the Sun Siyam Iru Fushi resort. He then took our luggage to the check-in counter and explained everything else to us, including how our onward transfer would work. We were able to spend the waiting time until our seaplane took off in the Iru Fushi Lounge. Food and drinks were available there. Everything is very well-maintained, smells great, and the service is super friendly at the lounge. Upon arrival at Iru Fushi Resort , we were given a very warm welcome with music and cold drinks, and we met our lovely butler Hnin, who has already checked us in and explained everything to us like how the Iru Fushi app works by making the necessary bookings and find our way around using a map. We were incredibly grateful to Hnin for her fantastic work, the excellent service, the support, and her help. She is a very warm-hearted person, an angel, and she is very thoughtful, super friendly, helpful, organized, and efficient. She was available to us almost 24/7 whenever we had questions or needed help. Hnin does an incredibly great job and made our stay at Iru Fushi very pleasant. Iru Fushi also offers a wide variety of sports and water sports activities. We decided to go on an excursion called nurse shark snorkeling. We were provided with food and drinks throughout the entire trip. The guide was super reliable and gave us all the necessary information and guided us throughout the whole trip. We also went on a really fun jet ski excursion. Our guide, Azim, did a great job organizing everything. First we rode out to one of their private sandbanks, and then he took us to a spot where we even saw dolphins. Azim was right up front explaining everything to us, including how the jet ski works. He really emphasized safety, showed us so much, and explained everything—it was an amazing trip. I’d do it again in a heartbeat—he did a fantastic job. We’d also like to say thanks to the staff, especially the servers. The food was absolutely delicious. The chef in charge was Rohit, who cooks very delicious meals and the servers especially Pratik and Naeem were just wonderful. We didn’t even have to say a word—they already remembered what we’d ordered the day before. They were super friendly, very attentive, and very professional, and they just made our stay so wonderful, whether it was breakfast, lunch or diner. Also we would like to highlight if you ordered a piña colada or a coconut iced coffee, it was made with real coconut milk—simply a treat. All in all, the six restaurants that were open during our stay—serving Italian, French, Asian, and Indian cuisine—offered a wide variety of culinary options. We were well taken care of, including at the bars and by the pool, where we had a varied evening entertainment program every day, ranging from live music to traditional performances. There was always something going on every evening—wonderful spots to watch the sunset, where the food was always super delicious. We stayed in a beach villa. It has direct access to the beach, and the room is a wonderful size, in a great location, and very clean. Housekeeping came twice a day—in the morning to clean the entire room, and in the evening to make sure we had plenty of clean towels and a restocked minibar. There’s really nothing to complain about. We didn’t miss a thing. It was simply an all-around feel-good experience. The island is beautifully landscaped, has a natural feel, and is the perfect size for a walk around it. On the island, you can also catch a ride with a buggie from A to B. There’s plenty to do to ensure a perfect stay. The only thing that bothered us a bit was that, depending on the wind, you could hear the seaplanes landing and taking off, but even that was something we could overlook. Finally, we would like to say huge thanks directly to Hnin, Pratik, Naeem and the entire Iru Fushi team for the extraordinary and unforgettable vacation we experienced. It was a pleasure and we would love to come back and highly recommend this resort :) such a gorgeous piece of paradise in the Maldives. 12/10!!!

Absolutely stunning holiday. Staff are all so friendly and helpful they all go above and behind to help in anyway. Food is amazing no matter where you eat, never had a bad meal. We had a water bungalow which was stunning. Nice small little pool which was lovely to just be in and look out across the sea and watch all the fish sharks and rays. Snoring whenever you wanted just outside the room. Always a fantastic atmosphere place is spotless and rooms are cleaned twice a day both with clean towels and robes. Best holiday ever thankyou so much.

The most amazing holiday truly a paradise , location , accommodation , staff all amazing but the most amazing part was the Gluten Free food . I have Celiac Disease and that brings challenges when traveling . I have travelled widely and can 100% say that this is the VERY best resort that I have been to that provides safe Gluten Free dining . The head chef Nalaka went above and beyond he was always around to help with what could be eaten from the Buffet and would make me anything Gluten Free . Breakfast I could order GF Pancakes , toast etc , there was also a separate GF selection of bread and cake . Every restaurant was very safe , listing GF on menu's , adapting where dishes were not to ensure that there was no missing out . The Indian restaurant was my favourite they even had GF Poppadom's . If I had an evening meal in the Iru Buffet Nalaka would prepare a GF desert for me , this may seem insignificant but those of us who cannot eat Gluten and would usually end up with fruit will understand how wonderful it is to get a real desert . You can also get GF pasta , pizza , Burgers , sandwiches . It truly is the most wonderful place . The only place that was not so great and truly was not a problem was the snacks in the room , there were biscuits and chocolates as a welcome gift , no GF and the mini bar snacks , also no GF . As I say not a issue at all but would have been a lovely special touch to have some GF in there if a guest has pre warned the resort as I did .

As this was our family's fourth trip to this island, it is obvious that we love this place. The location, the feel and the service are exceptional. However, the unexpected difficulties we had to face in connection with the Iran crisis pointed out even more what we already knew - the real treasure of this island is its people! During these very nervous days, not knowing when and how we would be able to return home, we had INCREDIBLE support. Starting with the reservation, Mirza Faiz and Radhika Sabharwal gave us prompt and kind responses regarding the extension of our stay, followed by the kind and caring support from all the staff. Neeshaadh, our butler with the best humour :-), made all the necessary rearrangements with great proficiency, while our friends Abdullah, Grishma, Sujana and Pratik really made us feel like we are family, going out of their way to help us with great smiles and lots of reassurance. Thank you for all the nice conversations and cheerful attitude to Dorothy, and all the most touching attention given to us by the Chefs and the Management! We hold all of you in our hearts!

An absolute dream vacation! We stayed at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi for 12 days and were absolutely thrilled. The welcome we received when we stepped out of the seaplane moved me to tears. We were speechless. The island is so beautiful and the service leaves nothing to be desired. Our “butler,” Azzam, was incredibly kind and always helped us. He organized everything for us, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Our daughter was also treated with so much kindness—she had the time of her life, and so did we! We will never forget this vacation. All the staff are so warm and helpful. Many thanks to the entire team at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, especially Azzam. We hope we can return one day! If I could give 100 stars, I absolutely would! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
