Fernie Slopeside Lodge

For a non-smoking facility, the room smelled of smoke. The bed linens are more ivory than white. The mattresses are very firm without any pillow topper so you can feel the springs. The window/AC unit is very drafty so sitting at the table you will have cold feet. The walls between rooms are not well insulated if at all. You will hear your neighbour turn on the shower as the water sound through the pipes will shatter your sleep. The bathroom is typical of hotels that have maintenance done by DIY amateurs. However, the toilet has incredible flush power. If your intention is to be right on the hill for easy access skiing, I would recommend staying at a more comfortable hotel in town and taking the free shuttle or driving the 10 minutes to park for free. It is worth the extra hassle.

Overall a good property! Could use a few modernization upgrades. Would stay again.

It was a little dated in some areas, but overall, it was good for the price and location. Very friendly service. We'd stay again.
