"Don’t expect sleep or nice meals"

4.0

Dreadful noise from outside events attended by locals ( not guests ) one went on till 2am Three nights ruined . Fireworks . Many guests complained Dont bother with evening meals .. the best word I could use is “edible “ Small room Terrible towels .. more like sheets Rang jet2 and emailed complaint re outside events and lack of sleep .. they did nothing . Hotel manager said it was guests making the noise .. it wasn’t I’d never go again

"Excellent"

8.0

We verbleven hier 3 nachten in mei 2025. Het zwembad was fijn en groot. Ook de kamer was netjes en schoon. Prima bedden.

"Disruptive stay due to unsupervised school children"

2.0

School Group Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was far from relaxing. A group of over 50 school children was running wild throughout the property—screaming in hallways, banging on walls, and being disruptive in the pool area by diving and shouting. Their behavior was not only disrespectful to other guests but also to the staff, and it was clear the accompanying teachers had little control over them. What should have been a peaceful getaway turned into a stressful experience. Disappointing, especially given the otherwise decent facilities.

"Beautiful location"

10.0

We are just back from a ten night stay in this lovely hotel. My husband and my 80 year old parents. We had a Seaview room and what a view. The hotel is spotless, staff are fantastic nothing was an issue. Beautiful pool area with a beautiful pool for swimming in. We had been concerned about food after booking half board however shouldn't have worried the food was fine and accommodated my ever so fussy husband with alternatives. This is a great location for exploring. Train station just a 10 minute walk down the hill. It takes you one way to Sorrento the other to Napoli. Lovely local supermarket with the loveliest staff. Marina not far away although need to be fit for the walk. Hotel has a shuttle bus will take you down to marina. You can also book it in advance for Sorrento. Please tip the shuttle bus driver he does a great job. Only downside is the busy road but it didn't bother us too much.

"Nice hotel, good location, stunning views, great nights sleep."

8.0

I’ve just come back from a week here at the Grand Hotel Moon Valley half board with Jet 2. The hotel is really nice. It’s very clean, with a pool and sun terrace. I got upgraded to an ocean view room, which if there are any available when you go is well worth it. The view over the bay of Naples is just outstanding. Both during the day and at night when the lights come on. It’s a great place to sit with a glass of wine after the hustle and bustle of Sorrento or Pompeii, with Vesuvius in the background. Also the sunsets are magnificent. I liked the food, it was simple, hot and tasty. There’s a choice of three for each of the three courses for dinner. I enjoyed everything I chose. The breakfast is continental, which I like, with pastries, breads, cereals, meats and cheeses. They did scrambled egg, bacon and chopped frankfurters as well. The pool is not massive, and it was too cold to use when I went, but when the weather heats up it will be a great place to cool off. The room was decent, I loved the balcony, and the bed was huge. There was a mini fridge, but no tea and coffee making facilities. It was spotless, decor a little dated, the shower was great and the bathroom nice. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, and very patient with me as I practiced my Italianish. Which is bad. The hotel put on a couple of private events while I was there, including a wedding with fireworks and a rave, which I was very disappointed not to be invited to. It was all finished by around 11pm though, and I slept like a log in the huge comfy bed. The hotel is a short walk from Seiano train station, which has a good service to Naples, Pompeii or Sorrento, which was only 15 minutes away and such a lovely place to visit. There is also a brand new shopping mall Maximall Pompeii, which is about a 20 minute flat walk from Pompeii Scavi Station and well worth a visit. The huge food court overlooks a fountain which dances to music, and it was really good. There’s not much in the village of Seiano to do, once you’ve walked down the epic hill to the quayside, you probably won’t want to do it again, and the nearest town of Vico Equense is very busy and compact, but again, not much to do there. The train station is a huge selling point for this hotel, using it was easy, I tapped in with my debit card and out at my destination, that worked fine and fares are very reasonable. The trains are metro style and at peak times were jam packed, but other times I got a seat no problem and you aren’t on it very long to Sorrento.

"Clean hotel close to local train station."

6.0

We traveled to this hotel with Jet2 over the Easter holidays. The rooms are small and outdated but comfortable and clean. I wondered why Jet2 had this rated as a 3 star while the official rating is 4 and now I know why, there are none of the facilities available you expect from a 4 star hotel and the official rating needs reviewing. No tea and coffee facilities in the room though a fridge is provided which is useful. The shower water pressure is terrible as is the WiFi signal. The towels are just sheets so take your own unless it’s warm enough when you visit to air dry! Some members of staff were lovely and happy to help. Others were plain rude standing around in packs talking to each other rather than serving. On Sunday I waited 20 minutes at the bar to be served only to be overlooked for non-resident locals sat drinking on the deck. When I went out and asked to be served I was told wait at bar… where I’d been for the last 20 minutes! The play area needs urgent attention with most of the equipment in need of attention. The breakfast was simple but a good selection was offered and all members of our party found something to eat. The evening meals were terrible. Over salted, over oiled or barely cooked and the portions were very small. I doubt there is a chef on site and suspect food is prepared by camp cooks. One day was sausage and broccoli. Another was an omelette with tinned carrots and an unidentifiable vegetable. One small sausage on greasy tenderstem was served. There were no vegetarian options at all some days. We ended up eating out most of the time. The drinks were over priced and there was no option to order any food other than was was on the half-board menu even when we offered to pay. The pool was too cold to use but looked lovely. The views are amazing and it’s just a 5 minute walk to the train station with easy access to Sorrento, Pompeii and Naples. I hope to return to Sorrento but I won’t be returning to this hotel. However, if you are looking for a clean affordable base outside of Sorrento it does the bare minimum.

"Lovely Family Stay"

10.0

We have just arrived back from a lovely weeks stay at this hotel. We booked a family room and although it was basic, it was spacious, the balcony was huge with amazing garden and Mountain View’s and very clean. There was a fridge in the room and we were able to buy supplies from the little shop down the road. The staff were really friendly and helpful and after reading the reviews we were worried about the food but needn’t have been. There were 3 starters and mains to choose from which you had to pick the night before. We always found something we liked but they accommodated our child really well, offering pasta, fries, spaghetti for her if she didn’t like anything. The food was basic but we found it very palatable and actually enjoyed it! The train station was only a 10 min walk away and although the road was very busy there was a perfectly fine footpath so I don’t understand some saying it was dangerous on other reviews. From the station we were able to access Sorrento, Pompeii etc with ease. The hotel provided a free shuttle bus into Sorrento at 9am every day apart from Sunday and collected us to return at 13:30 so a few hours could be enjoyed in Sorrento, the driver was lovely and even stopped to allow us photos of the views on the way in! The hotel is quiet, no evening entertainment etc but this suited us fine. I don’t understand the hate for this hotel in some of the reviews, we throughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again.

"A basic hotel stay in a central location for visits to pompeii and sorrento."

5.0

The view from the hotel was stunning and the location was close to the railway into sorrento but on a very busy main road.

The hotel was rated a 4 star- but very dated. Everything was very basic. The breakfast was very limited with no fresh fruit and limited choice. The room was basic and had no tea or coffee making facilities and the plug sockets were no where near the bed which is pretty much expected in all hotel rooms nowadays. The hotel was on a busy main road which you could hear even with the doors and windows closed. The room walls were very thin and you could hear people next door and below. In my personal opinion in needs some decent modernisation and a bit more effort put into breakfast. Compared to the other breakfasts we had at other hotels while in Italy- this was the least appealing.

"Fantastic half term holiday"

10.0

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, lovely views. Hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. All Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The half board option gave a choice of 3 starters and 3 mains - lovely selection of fish, pasta, meat and rice dishes. Choice of cake, fruit or freshly made ice cream (the coffee ice cream was really tasty). The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from a train station, where you can catch trains to Sorrento, Naples, Pompeii etc. There is not much to do in the immediate vicinity but the train allows you to connect to lots of places. Pool area was really nice, pool was a little bit cold at the end of October but did manage one swim, hotel will provide pool towels. Would recommend the hotel.
