Grand Hotel Moon Valley

Excelente piscina. Vista maravilhosas para Bahia de Nápoles. Co m O vesuvio ao fundo. No entanto: frigobar não estava funcionando o café da manhã foi apenas razoável e a recepção reteve passaportes por tempo excessivo.

Food was awful, especially evening meal. I went to the same hotel 4 years ago and it was much better then. Rooms were cleaned very well everyday, towels are like sheets but served their purpose they were fine. Would not recommend

Just back from 10 days staying at Moon Valley. The hotel is spotlessly clean, staff are friendly, helpful and professional. The pool area is beautiful with views to the hills and sea, all areas are very clean with options of sun loungers and chairs We enjoyed the food, both breakfast and dinner with the dinner being a set menu with 3 choices of starter, main and dessert. We always found something we liked and all the food we had was very tasty. There was entertainment in the evening and all guests were very friendly. We booked 2 trips through the hotel and were taken to Seiano Harbour in the hotel car and collected after the trip. The trips were very well organised and great value for money (only coming in at around £10 more each than what it would have been to organise ourselves). The walk to the Seiano Harbour is lovely, all down hill with beautiful views to the sea, the walk back up is more challenging but if taken slowly is very manageable. There is a restaurant and bar/shop less then a 5 minute walk from the hotel but more restaurants and bars at the Harbour There is also a local bus to take you down. We actually got on the bus (going the wrong way) and ended up in the hills which was a wonderful experience, seeing local homes, churches and outstanding views The train station is a 5-10 walk, giving you access to Sorrento, Vico Equense, Pompeii, Naples and much more. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough we had a wonderful time and will return in the future.

Preis Leistung ist sehrgut. Die Aussicht vom Zimmer war hervorragend. Die Zimmer Ausstatung mit Klimaanlage und Kühlschrank sehrgut. Poolanlage gut. Einziger minus Punkt ist der Verkehrslärm, welcher durch geschlossene Fenster nicht besser wird. Der Schlaf wird dadurch erheblich gestört.

The food was awful. 3 choices of starter, Main and desert for 30 euros. Frozen “birds eye” style breaded fish .. same broccoli, carrots and green beans every night .. did not seem fresh but frozen veg. The area is famed for its fresh food, but the food was so disappointing. Breakfast was adequate.

Just got back from staying at the moon valley such a lovely clean hotel .staff couldn't do enough for you .beautiful veiws over looking the bay so easy to get to train station. People have said about the food but we found it ok you got 3 choices for starters and main and choice of desserts. It's on a main road but didn't hear any noise from my room .garden and pool area had a lovely setting would go back again

What's good: the awesome view. What can be improved/needed: Leak-proof shower door, replace thin bedsheet-type towels with real towels. What to eliminate: The @!#%^ BOOM-BOOM-BOOM noise from the vibrating speakers in the pool area. Hotel turned into a nightclub at 9p.m., to where I felt the vibrations 2 floors up. When my tour company asks, How was your stay?, I will strongly encourage them to consider another hotel. The hotel's respect for its customers is sorely lacking.

The hotel was very clean and the reception staff friendly and helpful. with booking tours. However, the hotel was very noisy in all areas. Our double room was minimal but had a nice balcony view of the sea and Mount Vesuvius. Our cupboard slammed shut and so did the room cupboards either side of us! The TV was very small but did have the BBC channel. We had to work out how to put the blinds down on the windows as there were no instructions in the room. We couldn't make the air conditioning work, the sink plug leaked, the shower door didn't' shut properly, so water poured all over the floor and the fridge didn't work. The room was kept very clean and our bed well made. We didn't use the pool as it wasn't heated and told that it was very cold. However, the pool area looked very smart and the pool was clean. The hot breakfast consisted of the same each day; scrambled egg, small frankfurter sausages, very fatty greasy bacon and a hard boiled egg, all of which were cold and only cold plates supplied. Lots of variety in cakes, pastries, bread, cereals and cold meats. We hadn't booked an evening meal, fortunately, as we looked at the menu several times, but didn't fancy anything on it. Also the restaurant was very noisy when full. The garden was pretty with plenty of paths to walk along, but it needed an exit gate further down the road, which would shorten the walk to the train station. The road outside the hotel was very busy and noisy all the time. Every half an hour there was an ambulance, police car or fire engine which you could hear for miles each way. Crossing the road was also difficult. The walk down to Seiano harbour was steep but easy with lots of steps. There was an excellent grocery shop/deli/small restaurant opposite the hotel which served hot food and salad all day. The owner was very friendly and kind. There was also a Pizza/pasta restaurant further down the street which was good, however, a bit expensive. The trains were horrendously fast and crowded, (when not on strike), but you need to keep a good hold of your wallet (as we found out from bitter experience! ) We took the train into Sorrento twice, which was a lovely town, with lots of market streets to explore and good restaurants. We took ourselves to Pompeii on the train, but booked a half day guided tour of Herculaneum. Both good, but four hours was enough. We took a boat trip to Capri, with a blue grotto island tour included, but the boat didn't go into the grottos as there was a two hour waiting queue. We also booked a boat trip to Positano and Amalfi, which were both beautiful. Overall the hotel could do with a re-fresh in all areas, but in general was acceptable.
